Fortnite is one of the most popular titles out there and it has been like that since its release. But the game may not have been the sensation it is without the collaboration that Epic Games brings to the game and helped the game to be relevant till date.
There have been several collaborations in the game, from celebrities to anime and other video game franchises. However, there are some collaborations that couldn’t make it to the game despite being fan-favorites, and fans are still hoping for one such crossover to make it to the game.
There Was Reportedly a Fortnite and Formula 1 Crossover Planned
Epic Games brought Lewis Hamilton skin to Fortnite and it was massively successful. Fans were ecstatic to see the racing legend in the game and leaks reported that more was coming to the game.
It was reported by dataminers that there were more “F1 Racers” skins in the game that could bring more real-world racing drivers to the game. However, it was never announced and was later scrapped as these files were removed from the game. One Fortnite leaker recently shared a picture of the planned collab.
Was strongly looking forward to these 💔

Several fans have said that they were looking forward to this collab but were saddened when it never materialized. It is not known exactly why the collaboration never made its way to the game, but many think it could be due to licensing issues, and any team or player may have dropped out of it.
These were sick unfortunate it didn’t drop

However, fans are optimistic that it is only a matter of time before F1 comes to Fortnite and it may come with Rocket Racing. Players think the big names and cars alone would help Epic Games make more money than ever and also keep the player base engaged.
Formula 1 Collaboration Could Have Been an Epic One
Although there was no official announcement of the collaboration, the datamines showed some exciting content that players would have loved to see in Fortnite. There were around 10 to 11 outfit styles planned for the collab and all would have supported customization.
These styles included Fortnite Team, Alfa Romeo F1 Team, AlphaTauri F1 Team, McLaren F1 Team, Williams Racing, Alpine F1 Team, Aston Martin F1 Team, Ferrari, Haas F1 Team, Mercedes – AMG F1, and Red Bull Racing. There were also F1 cosmetic sets and emotes, including Pickaxe, Glider and Lil’ Circuit Racer Emote.
I think F1 is a matter of time. The cars alone would make a billion dollars. Mercedes, Max Verstappen, hell even the new track in Miami could be in Racing. In fact it'll be dumb to not do it. Straight cash 💸 pic.twitter.com/DNYsrCWKYK

The F1 personalities that were speculated to come to the game were Oscar Piastri, Pierre Gasly, Nyck DeVries, Sergio Perez, and Valtteri Botta. There were also events planned but sadly, nothing has been heard since then.
Fans are thinking that a racing season might be perfect to bring the awaited collab. It remains to be seen if Epic Games will fulfill the wishes of the fans.
