There is hope that Eiichiro Oda will grant Luffy One Piece someday. But there is little to no hope that Sanji and Zoro’s rivalry will ever cease to exist. Not only are the characters sworn rivals, but even their fans have chosen sides in a fictional fight.
The battle continues and has recently been sparked by the release of One Piece Vivre Cards. This collection of cards acts as information pages with details on every One Piece character. So of course, fans had to start comparing Sanji and Zoro’s Vivre Cards.
Eiichiro Oda’s One Piece Vivre Card Divides Fan Opinion of Zoro
The One Piece Vivre Cards have various details on each Straw Hat pirate as well as other characters in the One Piece world. From their age, birthday, height, affiliation, and bounty to some more silly info like bathing frequency and alcohol tolerance are also included.
It is due to this infodump that fans have noticed one stark difference between their beloved characters, Zoro and Sanji. In Sanji’s Vivre Card, he is called the 5th person with the highest alcohol tolerance. And like any normal person, he bathes every day.
The problem in this scenario is Zoro, who apparently bathes only once a week. Every Zoro fan knows that the man has no problem sleeping anywhere and often trains while sweating. Of course, washing just once a week after encountering such intense dirt is extremely surprising, if not unhygienic.
Thus, Sanji and Zoro have been compared again but this time, it is because of how nasty Zoro has turned out to be. Sanji by comparison is a man who takes care of himself.
Fans have taken every opportunity to express their disappointment in Zoro regarding the matter and most of the comments make fun of the man in the funniest manner.
The most surprising part among all of this is the fact that none of the male crew members bathe frequently. Luffy, Zoro, and Brooke bathe once a week while Chopper, Franky, and Usopp bathe three times a week. Both Nami and Robin bathe daily. You can already imagine how Nami and Robin must feel with a bunch of stinking men on board.
The Rivalry Between Sanji and Zoro in One Piece
The rivalry between Sanji and Zoro goes a long way back. Despite being the Captain’s wingmen, both of them cannot stand each other. This stems from their lack of similarities and extremely different attitudes. While Sanji is extremely fond of women, Zoro is indifferent towards everyone. Zoro on the other hand faces ridicule because of his lack of directional faculties.
The Vivre Cards show that Sanji has a bounty of 1.032 billion Bellies while Zoro has a bounty of 1.111 billion Beliies. Many fans consider this to be discriminatory as Sanji has improved a lot too. Of course, many people consider that Sanji is intentionally treated badly by Toei in the One Piece anime.
One of the main reasons behind their differences is that Sanji treats women better, no matter who it is. Zoro hates it since he is all about not treating women differently just because they are women.
