After years of rumors surrounding a console port for Valorant, Riot Games revealed during the recent Summer Games Fest that Valorant will make its way to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S|X! Despite the game’s reputation for being incredibly toxic, it’s managing to pull in players on consoles.

Riot Games has brought a limited beta of Valorant to console users. This beta version is intended to allow console players a chance to try out the game. If you’re someone who’s always to give the game a chance but couldn’t due to its PC exclusively, it’s your time now!

Over the years, Valorant has earned a name for itself as being one of the most toxic games out there. Player toxicity has been a longstanding issue for the game, even though Riot has tried its best to find a workaround for it.

With the game’s console port, many expected it to be the traditional toxic experience of the game. However, on Reddit, players were caught off guard by the fact that the game on consoles is a completely different experience.

Valorant‘s control scheme, unique characters, and fun gunplay are heavily geared towards PC. However, Riot has managed to deliver an experience that feels natural to controllers. The player base is flabbergasted by Riot’s dedication to the console port, as they certainly didn’t expect this toxic shooter to help them return to the world of gaming.

Coming from a siege/CoD/OW background, I’ve never really tried a game like val/cs. Most of the reason why is because it’s on PC and being a controller player all my life, it’s been a learning curve. However, I did not expect val to be the game that brings me back into gaming.

For the console port, Riot claims that the core experience will be the same as the game’s PC versions in terms of content and balance updates. However, it will permanently turn off cross-play because of the apparent precision disparity between the keyboard/mouse and controllers.

Is Riot Games Still Working on Valorant Mobile?

While it’s great to see gamers enjoying Valorant on their PS5 and Xbox consoles, it’s time for the developers to give mobile players an update! In the last couple of years, Riot Games has been actively developing a port for mobile devices.

Although Riot has already stated its plans to release the game, we still don’t have a shred of idea about its release date. The game is still under active development, which means we still don’t have any news on launch details.

Currently, the mobile port of the game is undergoing testing in China, where multiple gameplay clips have surfaced online. These clips show us a mobile experience that closely resembles the PC version, just like the console port!
