Sadly, no property is perfect. Santa Monica Studio suffered severe criticism for changes to the franchise over the years. Despite all that, players gave it a shot, which allowed the developers to perfect the formula. Now, the series creator hopes the upcoming game, Concord, is also given a chance.

Back in May, Firewalk Studios showcased its upcoming title, Concord, at Sony’s State of Play. However, the community’s reaction to the game wasn’t great. After a year of staring at the gorgeous CGI teaser trailer, players were disappointed to see that it was just another hero-shooter game.

After PlayStation announced that the game’s upcoming beta would be open to all PS Plus members, the community outrage grew further, with players outright asking Sony to abandon the project. However, God of War‘s creator, David Jaffe, simply can’t understand the reason behind player complaints.

While it’s true that Concord doesn’t stand as the most interesting PlayStation game we’ve seen in a while, it’s still trying to do something unique. The gaming landscape is already filled with generic hero shooters.

But this game combines some of the most popular franchises, such as Guardians of the Galaxy and Overwatch 2, to deliver a new experience. With the game’s weekend beta right around the corner, instead of slamming Firewalk for their efforts, Jaffe believes that gamers need to give the title a shot and then pass their judgments.

With ex-Destiny, Halo, and Call of Duty talent at the helm, surely they’re cooking something great, which needs to be tried once.

If you’re itching to get your hands on Sony’s upcoming shooter, there’s a beta coming, giving you the chance to dig into the action early.

The Early Access Beta for the game is supposed to go live for PS5 and PC players on July 12 at 10 AM PDT and end on July 14. While PS5 gamers can already pre-load the title, the same option isn’t available for PC players.

All users with a PlayStation Plus subscription will also have access to the game’s early beta period, though they won’t receive any additional shareable codes.

The game’s beta promises to bring a wealth of content for players to enjoy. There will be all 16 characters to try out, alongside three unique game modes and four diverse maps.

Players who participate in the beta will also receive cosmetic rewards like Li’ Frog Weapon Charm and Star Flare Business Card.
