They don't really look like Necromorphs.

Battlefield 2042 is enjoying its final season as it brings a final collaboration on the menu with Dead Space. The game won’t exactly be taken down and will receive maintenance in the days to come. The collaboration was a great way to welcome Motive to the team as they joined the squad.

However, like it has been for a better part of the game’ existence, fans are still criticizing it. The limited-time mode has been given the name Outbreak, where players are up against enemies that are part zombies and part Necromorphs. They aren’t really scary.

This Indeed is a Sad Goodbye For The Electronic Arts Game

Maybe if Battlefield had collaborated with Dead Space in the past, the journey of the users controlling Isaac could’ve been unflinching. But it’s the other way around in the latest, or, should we say, last, Battlefield 2042 collaboration.

In a clip shared over the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), a user is seen running around killing the Necromorph-esque enemies on the map. He appears to be having fun. But he’s among the few, it seems.

One fan was annoyed over the collaboration and said this is the mode he has played in the game.

Another fan was more annoyed by the AI used in the game than the mode.

And another one chimed in for criticism of the mode.

With all that said, it wasn’t really a cheerful goodbye for the DICE game.

The Next Entry is Expected Not to Become Battlefield 2042

Concerning Battlefield, EA had to go through a rough patch after the disappointing sales of the last entry in the series. Maybe it’s time to bring in that much deserving sequel to Bad Company 2, after the game was left with a cliffhanger.

Nevertheless, that is highly unlikely as EA is working on a mainline Battlefield game which will be a live services title. There are rumors of it having a free-to-play battle royale mode. Fans might be hoping it won’t turn out like Battlefield 2042.

Like the latest Battlefield entry, Dead Space Remake too was said to met with a lackluster sales that eventually canned a remake to the original game’s sequel. Though, EA has commented there’s “no validity to this story“.

How has been your experience with the final season of the game? We would like to know about it in the comments section below.
