Recency bias is utterly common for fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It may also have graduated to become a necessity considering the lack of stellar projects that the MCU has seen in recent years. However, it may have returned amongst some fans in a hilarious fashion.
Fans are currently awaiting the release of Deadpool & Wolverine, but Captain America: Brave New World, with its February 2025 release-date, is also on the slate. The movie saw the release of an exciting trailer recently which brought forth the character of Red Hulk, Thaddeus ‘Thunderbolt’ Ross is set to transform into, once Brave New World hits theaters. However, the trailer scene which gave fans the first glimpse at the Red Hulk, has been praised to a hilarious extent by a part of the community.
Fans called it the best CGI-created scene they have ever seen in the MCU. As if, the MCU, despite its recent blips, has not given its viewers some truly magnificent CGI-scenes to enjoy over the last decade and a half.
Some fans think Red Hulk scene from Brave New World trailer is the best CGI-scene Marvel has ever created
The scene in question is undoubtedly stellar. It brings forth a maniacal character in the form of the Red Hulk, who is not expected to be anything other than an antagonist. However, to say that the introductory scene in the trailer is the best form of CGI-usage that Marvel has ever done with respect to the MCU, is simply a hilarious overstatement.
One user, thought exactly that, as they wrote the following:
Maybe the best CGI shot in the MCU.

However, as one would expect, MCU fans rushed to defend their franchise, and came up with a bunch of hilarious responses that suggested the fan in question might be a victim of recency bias. After all, from the Avengers-Thanos saga to Civil War, to even less-successful projects such as The Eternals, one thing the MCU cannot be faulted for is its usage of CGI, which has given fans a plethora of intense sequences right from when the franchise was introduced via Iron-Man, in 2008.
Some responses can be seen below:

This looks kinda bad… but I’m sure it will look better by the time the movie comes out

Needless to say, most fans agreed that the MCU is in truth littered with much-better CGI-sequences.
Captain America: Brave New World does not seem likely to surpass CGI-scenes of some notable MCU movies
There are simply a plethora of reasons why we are willing to bet money on the notion that Brave New World will simply not be competing with MCU’s past, when it comes to CGI. After all, how can one forget the almost 30-minute-long final battle against Thanos that featured in Avengers: Endgame?
As Steve Rogers/Captain America limped on his way to battle Thanos and his army, he was joined by a plethora of superheroes from across the multiverse. Some had already been introduced, others were major players in the MCU already, while a number of other characters were simply making their first-ever appearances.
What followed was the most intense battle sequence ever featured in the MCU, and a majority of it was CGI-enabled, considering the kind of characters on display. What’s more, the same can be said about a plethora of other sequences from across projects. Even a random Hulk scene from Infinity War appears more stellar than what was shown in Brave New World’s trailer.

And hence, while the movie itself may have a range of other scenes that will be CGI-based, the sheer inclusion of Red Hulk does not mean that MCU will be doing anything they have not done before. Anthony Mackie’s first Captain America movie will have to do much more.
Captain America: Brave New World will hit theaters on 14 February, 2025.
