When you think about Hollywood, you think about, becoming an actor, you know, there’s a small handful of things that from the outside you could go, ‘Wow, that’d be really cool.’ You know, winning an Oscar, winning a Golden Globe or a Hollywood Star or, you know, hosting SNL.
But other than that, it’s just like, for me, it was always like an on-off switch and the success was am I still waiting tables or not? And if I’m paying for my lifestyle through acting, that was success, so it’s been like that for 20-plus years now.
The Marvel star would have never imagined the level of success and fame that he is currently enjoying. With his star power at its peak, he may soon beat Downey Jr. and Jackson to become the highest-grossing actor ever. Audiences love seeing Pratt whenever he’s on-screen or even as a voice role and thus, his power in the industry continues to rise.

Chris Pratt is currently shooting for his upcoming sci-fi thriller Mercy directed by Timur Bekmambetov. The film will chronicle the trials and tribulations of a detective who has to prove his innocence after being accused of a crime. In an interview with Collider, Pratt opened up about the director’s incredible vision and the fresh script.
The Marvel star praised the wholly original and inventive concept of the film which fascinated him once he read it. He is also excited to work with Rebecca Ferguson on the film, calling her an amazing actress. Pratt said,
She is amazing. She’s incredible. Timur Bekmambetov. I worked with him on Wanted. He has an incredible vision. And the script was one of these scripts that, the minute I picked it up, I didn’t put it down until I was completely done with. It’s wildly fresh. It’s so inventive. It’s absolutely original, which I have to say is more and more rare these days. The story is incredible.
Audiences will be ecstatic to get an exciting new sci-fi film that is not a franchise or a reboot. In addition to Pratt and Ferguson, Mercy will also star Annabelle Wallis, Kali Reis, Rafi Gavron, Chris Sullivan, and others. The film will hit theatres on August 15, 2025.
