The host shared that he couldn’t think of two characters who are less similar than Deadpool and Wolverine. Ryan Reynolds replied that the two have a lot of similarities in physiology. Jackman shared that they both charge huge amounts of money. Reynolds shared that Jackman was more expensive than him when it came to the paycheck.

He joked that The Greatest Showman actor’s salary made Feige cry hard openly. Jackman joined in the joke, sharing that it was because he asked for the money in Australian dollars. Reynolds replied that he asked for drachmas, only to learn that the currency was decommissioned two decades ago. The back-and-forth played out like this on The Project:

Reynolds: The physiologies are very linked…
Jackman: They charge a lot of money…
Reynolds: Yes. They do charge a lot of money. Particularly, Mr. Hugh Jackman. Worth every penny. But I’ve never seen Kevin Feige cry that hard. That openly too.
Jackman: I asked for it in Australian dollars. Just to be clear.
Reynolds: I got paid in drachmas, which I just found out, they’ve been decommissioned decades ago.

Earlier, the Green Lantern actor shared a tweet that showed him having an amazing time with Jackman during the promotion of the film in South Korea. At the end of the tweet, he remarked that promoting the film was supposed to be work, but this felt more like a vacation. He joked that someone was getting fired over this at Marvel while adding, Probably Kevin Feige.”

Ryan Reynolds managed to slip in a Kevin Feige joke in the Deadpool & Wolverine trailer, where he shared that the Marvel Boss said cocaine was off-limits. However, Feige shared that he did not explicitly say that during the film’s discussions. However, he admitted that he may have mentioned one drug use joke to be not funny.

He shared that Reynolds was great at remembering such instances and using them as excellent jokes in the film. Feige shared with Variety:

After about the 28th time you do a joke, sometimes it’s not as funny. Maybe I’m slightly prudish when it comes to drug use. But I was like ‘Eh, it’s not that funny’ in passing. Ryan [Reynolds], of course, stores everything in his brain for later use as excellent jokes. And he added it to the script.

Feige’s statement clearly indicates that he is confident about Reynolds’ jokes. Moreover, Reynolds delivers some brilliant jokes impromptu during the promotions. This has heightened the fans’ expectations for the level of jokes in the upcoming film.
