With anime becoming mainstream, there has been a surge in the number of anime released in a year. Many new animation studios have also come up due to the boom in the anime and manga industry. Even though there has been such massive growth, there are still a few popular manga that are yet to be adapted into an anime. One of those highly recommended manga is Takehito Inoue’s Vagabond.
Vagabond has been one of the go-to manga for several readers due to its plot and beautifully covered minute details. It has been long since the manga came into existence, but there is still no news about it getting an anime adaptation. But there is an ongoing rumor that it might change soon. A vastly popular animation studio might handle Vagabond’s case. But the fans are concerned about a certain aspect of Takehito Inoue’s magnum opus.
Vagabond’s Animation Needs To Be A Work Of Art
Vagabond is one of the most popular seinen manga ever. Even though it went on an indefinite hiatus in 2015, there has not been a fall in its fandom. The manga was a work of art, and everything was perfect. Every minute detail was covered. It is as if Inoue sensei dedicated his entire life to making the most perfect manga ever. Unfortunately, it was one of the reasons why the mangaka had to go on an indefinite hiatus.

After Studio Fortiche’s desire went public, several fans let out their opinions regarding the anime adaptation of Vagabond. While some were in favor, others wanted Takehito Inoue’s magnum opus to stay as a manga. Many feared that the stunning artwork and the depth of the plot and characters might be a tad bit difficult for the animation studio.
As much as I like arcane and the studio handling it, I do think it’s a bit hard to adapt takehiko inoue artstyle especially vagabond because the shading is so good. But I might be wrong. I guess it’s true that French really do like takehiko artstyle

I would love the attempt, but Vagabond is unanimously seen as “not animatable” for a reason. Its art is so unique and detailed, I don’t think anyone could thoroughly copy it.

If they can capture the artstyle, then yes. If not, please wait and let another studio pick it up at some point. This is only going to be made once.
