God of War fans are satisfied with how the developers wrapped up the Norse Saga and are already looking towards the future. All bets are off for the Ghost of Sparta after he accepts his godhood and new role as a protector of the Nine Realms but his care might stretch beyond his purview.
Now that Odin and the rest of the Aesir are out of the picture, there will always be another group of omnipotent deities that will seize the opportunity to take over. The fans hope to see the Aztec Gods be the villains of the next chapter.
The Gaming Community Is Ready to See the Retired God of War Take on the Aztec Gods
Santa Monica Studio spent the last couple of years exclusively working on this franchise and to witness it grow and being universally praised by the gaming community is worth all the sacrifices. The original Greek God of War, Ares, was a much bigger threat than his fellow gods anticipated and accomplished great feats that no one else in his pantheon could like opening a pocket dimension. Fortunately, the Ghost of Sparta was there to relieve him of his duties and stave off the destruction of Greece.
The Ghost of Sparta then ventured to live out the rest of his days in isolation until he stumbled onto Norse lands and inadvertently saved the Nine Realms from the clutches of the Aesir Gods and is now hailed a hero. In a now-deleted post, the gaming community threw suggestions for which pantheon should be featured next, and among the top of the wishlist are the Aztec Gods.

The opportunities are endless and the developers could choose to take a different approach by letting Atreus be the lead of his spinoff game. Having multiple leads will allow the developers to explore more cultures and the characters visit neighboring lands to interact with the people and offer any aid they can provide.
The gaming community is eager to see the continuation of the stories of Kratos and Atreus. God of War Ragnarok had an open-ended ending that paved the way for more opportunities, backed up by what the Valhalla DLC featured with Tyr using different weapons from distant cultures from his previous ventures outside the Nine Realms.
The Fans Are Excited to See the Next Major God of War Sequel
The first part of the Norse Saga established that the feats of the retired god had spread outside the Greek lands and Mimir was familiar with his title as the Ghost of Sparta. It would make sense for every pantheon to realize not to mess with Kratos to avoid the similar fates of the Greek and Norse Gods.
Some fans are partial to the Japanese culture above everything else. Perhaps the developers are narrowing down a roadmap to cover more mythologies in future sequels.
PlayStation Studios holds the franchise in high regard and is invested to see it expand and succeed. The Norse Saga could only signify the start of a new era of God of War games. Santa Monica Studio is on the cusp of greatness. The fans are optimistic to see more quality content.
