Netflix’s One Piece Live Action has set a trend of anime live adaptations. After its enormous success, more anime franchises are coming up with their live adaptations. The concept of live adaptations was deemed a failure due to the several flops in this category. Eiichiro Oda’s new venture scared the fans since it could ruin the anime’s popularity. But after its release, it became an internet sensation, streaming in 80+ countries.
In the One Piece anime, the members joined the crew with specific dreams to fulfill. But as they journeyed together, they became best of friends, willing to sacrifice their dreams for their friends. The same thing happened with the live-action cast also. They became best friends and often pulled pranks on each other. The latest one was done by Mackenyu on Taz Skylar.
Roronoa Zoro Stole Sanji’s Smoothie
Roronoa Zoro and Vinsmoke Sanji have a unique relationship. They spend most of their time fighting, name-calling, and teasing each other. Even though they hate each other’s guts, they admire each other secretly. The shenanigans part seemed to have been transferred to the real-life Zoro and Sanji. While Mackenyu (Zoro’s actor) and Taz Skylar (Sanji’s actor) often argued during interviews, the former seems to have drawn the first blood.
Currently, One Piece Live Action season 2 is under production in South Africa. Mackenyu posted a video, where he secretly entered Sanji’s room and stole one of his smoothies. The onscreen chemistry has affected their offscreen chemistry, too. It is only the beginning since Skylar might strike back soon. Maybe one of Zoro’s swords or dumbbells will go missing. The fans have enjoyed every behind-the-scenes moment.
One fan commented, “Lore accurate Zoro and Sanji,” with laughing emoji. Following him, several others commented that it is a ‘ZoSan’ moment. Another one commented, “Sanji’s gonna clap back saying how Mosshead got lost trying to find his own smoothie.” With Zoro’s lack of direction sense, fans believe he would be lost if Sanji’s name wasn’t mentioned on the top.
They are also happy to see the cast bonding since it might make their onscreen chemistry better. Eiichiro Oda handpicked the entire cast, so it was bound to happen. But the big question is what Zoro did with Sanji’s smoothie. Since the former loves alcohol, it seems odd for him to steal a smoothie. But either way, Curly Eyebrow won’t be happy.
Netflix’s One Piece Season 2 Will Have Several Live Action Debuts
Netflix’s One Piece Live Action broke the shackles of failure and helped the genre soar high. Even though few elements were changed from the anime, the fans found it entertaining. It helped the series to create a separate identity from the anime. Apart from the Straw Hats, Dracule Mihawk, Shanks, Arlong, etc., were pretty manga-accurate. Season 2 will feature several live-action debuts. Season 2 is under production in South Africa.
Captain Smoker, Tashigi, and Tony Tony Chopper will be making their live-action debuts. The mangaka confirmed Chopper’s news. Everyone is excited to see whether Chopper is presented through AI or a child actor. One Piece Live Action season 2 will venture into the Drum Island and Loguetown. Netflix has not announced the official release date. The fans are expecting the series to return in 2025.
One Piece Live Action can be streamed on Netflix.
