Thus, even though some fans may consider Dragon Ball GT canon, its notions, and theories cannot be taken into account with Dragon Ball Z or Dragon Ball Super timelines.
One such notion of Dragon Ball GT has led fans to scratch their heads. It is about the negative energy used by Shenron that has given the fans some wrong ideas about Goku’s Super Saiyan transformations. In fact, it has also disrupted some major plotlines of the original timeline.
Theory About Negative Energy in the Dragon Ball Universe
The negative Dragon Ball energy was a concept introduced by Old Kai in Dragon Ball Z. This concept focused on the negative energy created whenever a wish was granted by the Dragon Balls. However, the Dragon Balls themselves stored this negative energy and harmlessly released it in the universe over a certain period of time.
The Dragon Ball GT narrative was based around this negative energy, which created seven different Shenrons who played antagonistic roles in the series. Therefore, while it worked greatly with Dragon Ball GT, the concept of negative Dragon Ball energy would have no importance in the canonical narratives.

These Dragon Balls have been used for almost everything. They have explained multiple concepts, like the Super Saiyan God transformation or Goku’s return from the dead.
And while they can be used for villainous endeavors, they themselves cannot be negative. It would hurt the entire timeline of the Dragon Ball Z and Dragon Ball Super Universe and indirectly disrupt the narrative of these timelines.
