Dracule Mihawk is one of the finest characters in One Piece. The man is so strong that he ventures the seas alone on a small boat. Apart from being the World’s Strongest Swordsman, Mihawk regularly used to spar with Shanks before he lost his left hand. But the fans have started to believe otherwise.
The only achievement of Mihawk that has been shown yet was defeating Roronoa Zoro with a small knife. From then he is rarely seen to pick up his sword. The fans have started calling him a fraud, but not for being weak. They are doing so because none of his fights from the past has been showcased in the anime.
Mihawk’s Inaction Might Be Too Visible
Dracule Mihawk’s introduction left everyone scared, especially after what he did to Roronoa Zoro. As time passed, people started to have greater expectations from him. His character was hyped a lot. But the fans rarely got to see him in his full potential. The Paramount War saw a few slashes here and there and nothing afterward. His only purpose seems to be defeat by the hands of Zoro, as the latter takes his title.

Fans are disappointed with how things have turned out with the World’s Strongest Swordsman. Shanks also fell in the same category, but fans got to see him in action against Eustass ‘Captain’ Kid, stopped Akainu’s magma punch, Haki clash with Whitebeard, defeated Admiral Ryokugyu with Haki, and even stopped Kaido from reaching the Paramount War. Even Roger, Whitebeard, Blackbeard, Kaido, and Big Mom had a great resume.
One Piece needs to feature at least one of his good fights or show his past battles when he was younger. One of the fans said, “Mihawk is not a fraud bc of weakness, he’s a fraud bc of inaction.” He had one unnamed slash, which was blocked by Diamond Jozu. His only achievement that was ever shown was the possession of Yoru, one of the Special Grade Swords, and that too, black and training his future challenger, Roronoa Zoro.
One Piece’s Final War May Change Fans’ View On Dracule Mihawk
After the Egghead Island arc concludes, the Elbaf arc will begin. Eiichiro Oda has revealed the powerhouses of the upcoming war, and Mihawk is a part of the war. Even though his picture was missing, he officially belongs to Buggy’s cross guild. Since Buggy’s presence was hinted, he and Sir Crocodile are most likely to be present. The Final War might be Hawkeye’s last chance to demonstrate himself as the World’s Strongest Swordsman.
There will be multiple pirates and marines on whom he could use his full potential to wreak havoc. The winner of the battle will be the closest one to Laugh Tale. So, he might not want to lose the chance of holding two titles at once – the World’s Strongest Swordsman and the Pirate King. There is still time before the participants enter the battlefield.
The One Piece fandom wants Monkey D. Luffy to become the Pirate King, but not seeing the swordsman in action has made them annoyed. The final battle between Roronoa Zoro vs. Dracule Mihawk can be epic, but it would have no point if the latter loses. Since the mangaka never showed any of his official fights for the fans to recognize his caliber.
