As of right now, the most feared character in the entire One Piece is Monkey D. Luffy. Not only has he earned the Emperor of the Sea title at the young age of 19, he is also going toe-to-toe with not one but all five Elders in the Egghead Island arc. His power is truly atrocious, and there are very few characters in the entire series who could challenge him.
While it is extremely difficult to defeat Luffy, there is one character who has constantly beaten the young Emperor and brought him under her control. This character is none other than Nami, the navigator of the Straw Hat Pirates. Nami and Luffy’s relationship is filled with love and trust, but things can often get heated when Luffy annoys Nami.
One Piece fans have seen Nami beat Luffy to the point that he is not even able to stand up. However, it is just a comedic element added by Eiichiro Oda. But some One Piece fans have got the wrong idea about this, and they have started making theories about how Nami is able to do the impossible.
Luffy and Nami’s Relationship in One Piece
Within the Straw Hat Pirates, Luffy and Nami share one of the closest relationships, which contains trust, loyalty, and some hardcore beatings. Although they are quite close, both Luffy and Nami are often seen fighting. Luffy is often annoyed with Nami ruining the fun and forcing him to do things that he doesn’t want to.
Nami, on the other hand, is always angry at Luffy for taking the stupidest steps that often lead to them being in danger. While their arguments are quite common, they always lead to Nami deciding to beat Luffy. Although she is nowhere near Luffy’s tremendous power, she still manages to hurt him pretty badly.
However, this doesn’t change the fact that when Nami needs help saving, Luffy is one of the first people to step up and do everything in his power to rescue her. Their bond has strengthened over the years, and as Luffy believes Nami will navigate them wherever they want to go, Nami believes that Luffy will be the King of Pirates.
One Piece Fans Have A Wrong Idea About Nami And Luffy’s Relationship
Nami beating Luffy to the point of extreme injury is Eiichiro Oda’s way of adding a comedic element to their relationship. It may look like a serious fight, but it’s just a playful banter between two crewmates. However, not every One Piece fan sees it that way. Some fans have tried to figure out how Nami is able to do this with her strength.
u/gastronaut55 posted a theory on Reddit about how Nami beats the “spirit” out to them, making them fear for their lives. It doesn’t require any strength or ability, just a terrifying nature that Nami has held for a long time. As soon as this theory was posted on the internet, fans decided to point out the fact that not everything in One Piece has logic behind it.
While it may sound interesting, the only purpose of these specific scenes is to make the story light and carry the comedy that has been a crucial part of One Piece since the beginning.
