Deadpool & Wolverine continues to rake in impressive numbers at the box office in its second weekend and is poised to become the MCU’s first billion-dollar film since Spider-Man No Way Home. Fans have greatly enjoyed the titular character’s dynamic as well as the various easter eggs that have been planted throughout the film.
The film also introduced variants of Deadpool in the Deadpool Corps including Nicepool. Both Deadpool and Nicepool had a rather competitive dynamic in the film which proved to be one of its main highlights. To show his fourth wall-breaking skills, Nicepool references a beloved Ryan Reynolds rom-com which had him featuring alongside Sandra Bullock.
Deadpool & Wolverine Has a Cheeky Reference to Ryan Reynolds’ The Proposal
Deadpool & Wolverine pumped up the meta pop culture references to an 11 while also featuring countless easter eggs for Marvel fans. The two-hander featured some amazing gags with reference to Ryan Reynolds’ own career from various characters including Nicepool who Deadpool has a competitive relationship with.
Throughout the film, the two Deadpools have a running gag over who is the better papa for Dogpool. In one hilarious moment, Nicepool reminds Deadpool about how he can also break the fourth wall and address the audience. Weirdly, Nicepool looks at the camera and utters ‘The Proposal’ referencing Reynolds’ hit rom-com with Sandra Bullock from 2009 (via X). The film remains a fan-favorite and grossed $314 million (via The Numbers) against a $40 million budget.

Deadpool is taken aback by the whole scenario and criticizes Nicepool’s attempt at a fourth wall break saying “What the f*ck was that, Bi*ch you think that’s what I do?”. Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine has had enough of the constant bickering between the two and tells both of them to shut up. The scene is followed by an already iconic fight between the titular characters and the Deadpool Corps.
Deadpool & Wolverine is having an incredible run and by its second weekend, it already has a worldwide gross of $824 million against a $200 million budget (via Box Office Mojo). The film will surely pass the $1 billion mark very soon and may indeed take over Joker‘s 1.07 billion dollar gross to become the highest-grossing Ra-rated film in history.
Ryan Reynolds Hilariously Compares Hugh Jackman’s Performance In Deadpool 3 To Marlon Brando
Hugh Jackman made his triumphant return as Logan in Deadpool & Wolverine. While Ryan Reynolds‘ Deadpool provided the expected gags out of a Deadpool film, Jackman provided the right amount of heart and emotional pathos through his character. The actor has been receiving immense praise for his performance in the film.
In a hilarious post on X, Reynolds pointed out the aforementioned fact and Jackman’s masterclass [performance in the film. He attributed the Wolverine star’s talent and commitment to the amazing performance while also acknowledging that he had an assist from what is called ‘The Brando Method’ (joking that Jackman went method for the role similar to how Marlon Brando does for his films). Reynolds wrote,

Deadpool & Wolverine worked purely due to the amazing camaraderie and banter between its titular characters and the actors’ real-life friendship elevated it to the next level. The film has already earned more than the previous two Deadpool films and has become a big hit for Disney and Marvel.
Deadpool & Wolverine is currently running successfully in theatres.
