Walker Scobell, the breakout star of The Adam Project, narrowly missed out on a role that would have cemented his status as a Hollywood darling: Kidpool in Deadpool & Wolverine. In a recent tweet dropped by Cosmic Marvel, Shawn Levy revealed that Scobell was originally going to be featured as Kidpool in his latest MCU flick.

“It was his dream. Ryan and I reached out to him once we realized he was now going to be too old, both too tall and with his voice too low … he was completely understanding,” says Shawn Levy.… pic.twitter.com/regGsWeGaa
Director Levy spilled the news on how it was Scobell’s dream to be in Deadpool & Wolverine, but cruel twist of fate, puberty intervened. Despite the disappointment, Scobell handled the news with grace, as Levy alluded to Entertainment Weekly:
It was his dream. Ryan and I reached out to him once we realized he was now going to be too old, both too tall and with his voice too low. So, we did call Walker and told him why he couldn’t be a kidpool, and he was totally understanding.
While Scobell may have missed out on the Merc with a Mouth, he’s got plenty on his plate. “Could he not have been a teenpool or something like that?” one fan chimed in, saying it would’ve been epic to see him as a variant, even if Kidpool wasn’t in the cards.
Could he not have been a Teenpool or something like that? Would've been nice to have him be a variant at least

But Scobell could be more than just a variant. Marvel Facts dropped a tweet, stating director Levy may be interested in making a Deadpool & Spider-Man film, and who knows, the actor could get his Marvel debut here.

So, while the Kidpool dream may be on hold (for now), it seems Walker Scobell’s star is only continuing to rise. As for Shawn Levy, his love for the Marvel universe is evident, and fans are eagerly awaiting his next cinematic adventure!

Fans are raving about Walker Scobell, saying he was the perfect choice to play the younger Ryan Reynolds. The kid’s got charisma for days and would have totally nailed the role. Fans argue Scobell could’ve at least been featured as a variant in the film.
Yeah, it seems like a "no dice kid" when that shouldn't be an issue in the first place. Given how many variants appeared in the film, giving him a line as a Teenpool doesn't seem like a far reach at all. Deadpool's are fully covered anyway, so at most it's a nice reference.

I think a few of the variants in the movie weren't comic variants though. Some were more close friends of Ryan or easter eggs of Wrexham and things like that. My thought is that I'd love to have seen Nolan North's game Deadpool be referenced but they can't do it all

Teenpool doesn't exist, but neither did some of the other appearances of Deadpool variants. A lot were either close friends of Ryan's or references to Canada/Wrexham etc. So just would've been a cool reference to that film they did together.

i think he’s busy with percy jackson if i’m not mistaking him for another person

I think because there isn't a "teenpool" in the comics.

This debate rages on, but one thing’s for sure: the young actor has definitely made a splash. If all goes well, we might see his MCU debut soon in a new flick.
