If fans thought that Hugh Jackman‘s role in Deadpool & Wolverine was the most feral version of Logan, they should read one Marvel Comics storyline of the character. The Fatal Attraction storyline in the Uncanny X-Men sees the most villainous side of Magneto, who is mad at humans for initiating attacks on mutants.

The government who foresaw his attack initiated the Magneto Protocols, a protective measure against the powerful mutant. The X-Men villain is not happy about it and immediately destroys these measures from a floating base in space. He then retaliates with an EMP attack on Earth, leading to the death of thousands in hospitals after their life support machines stopped functioning.

Wolverine and the other X-Men confront the villain in Avalon, where Magneto forcibly removes the adamantium from the clawed mutant’s body. His healing factor goes into overdrive after the metal is stripped from his body. It almost brought him to the verge of death in the comics.

When Logan wakes up from the near-death experience, with a little help from Jean Grey, he feels something different about himself. He noticed that his feral senses were enhanced and he didn’t feel any sensation of pain. This Wolverine storyline was explained in an Instagram post by @ton_comics_blog.

Charles Xavier later revealed in the comics that the character’s adamantium metal in his body was poisoning him and holding back the natural progression of his mutation. Logan subsequently became larger, stronger, and faster. His bone claws also became larger and his animalistic side became more prominent.

Fans Suspect The Storyline Would Appear In X-Men ’97 Season 2

The more feral side of Wolverine was something that captured the interest of the MCU fans. Some of the fans compared Wolverine and his brother Sabretooth, commenting that Logan was becoming more like his brother with his animalistic side. Fans also campaigned for the MCU to include this storyline in the X-Men films.

After Magneto’s attack was featured in the first season of X-Men ’97, many fans suspect that the show will feature this storyline for Logan. The second season of the critically acclaimed show will reach audiences next year. Some of the fan reactions read:

It is also noteworthy that Jackman is not confirmed to return as Wolverine in the MCU after Deadpool & Wolverine. It is possible that a new actor would replace The Prestige actor, with fans speculating it to be Henry Cavill. A feral Cavillrine might be the best thing viewers get to see in the MCU x X-Men universe.

Deadpool & Wolverine is running successfully in theaters.
