Elden Ring is widely considered the pinnacle of the Soulslike genre, and enough time has passed for the gaming community to get candid and share its honest opinions about certain in-game elements. The game developers did not hold back with the unique and horrifying character design of enemies.
The Soulslike genre is not for the faint of heart and is renowned for the harrowing gaming experience. The enemies in the game can pack a punch and their appearance can help set the tone for their destructive capabilities that could heavily discourage players from spending any more time getting past them.
The Gaming Community Is Sick and Tired of Another Elden Ring Enemy Design
The community is grateful to Bandai Namco Entertainment for paving the way for the Soulslike genre to flourish. The publisher gave the developers the necessary support to make a great game without any hindrances or roadblocks, apart from skill issues that the Elden Ring director lacked as he played through his game in preparation for the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion.
Players who grew up with the Soulslike franchise quickly familiarized themselves with the intense difficulty and had a good idea of the threat they may encounter in the latest entry and beyond. However, they were unprepared for the horrid character designs that made them extremely uncomfortable from afar even before they engaged in combat.
Beginners were not briefed about the horrors they would face and quickly grew to hate specific enemy types and for good reason. Perhaps the game developers wanted to ensure these enemies look the part and let the studio’s reputation speak for itself by designing weird and grotesque enemies that can pack a punch.
Some fans genuinely hate the Wormface and boldly claim it is one of the worst Elden Ring enemies then continued to describe in detail that their unsettling appearance and characteristics make it harder to fight them. Other players greatly dislike enemies that crawl on the ground and consider them a massive headache whenever they encounter one.
These enemies are doing a great job of causing discomfort and making players think twice about an alternate approach while trying their best to ignore their appearances. The developers excellent at allowing the players to feel immersed in the game and evoke different emotions through character design.
Fans Think Elden Ring Enemies Are a Different Breed of Scum and Villainy
FromSoftware had a great track record with previous Soulslike games and thought of a creative way to honor past projects while benefitting the current one by paying homage to classic enemy designs. The Shadow of the Erdtree expansion benefitted greatly with a new enemy type that shares many visual characteristics with a Bloodborne enemy.
These enemy designs can strike fear in the hearts of players from a distance. Simply looking at them will dissuade them from getting into a fight and avoid to get an up-close and intimate look with them.
Director Hidetaka Miyazaki wanted to give the gaming community an unforgettable experience and leaned heavily on character design. Fans will have a hard time forgetting these vile beings.
Wormfaces are among the worst enemies to face in the game. There is no telling what the developers will present in the next project.
