Jujutsu Kaisen rose to fame quite soon after its debut as fans discovered its potential. The series first debuted in March 2018, and six years later, the manga is about to receive its final chapter.
Yes, you read that right: just two weeks after My Hero Academia released its final chapter, it was announced that Jujutsu Kaisen would end in a few more chapters. While fans knew that the manga was in its final arc, no one could have anticipated how near the ending was.
Jujutsu Kaisen Manga is Ending in 5 More Chapters
The official Twitter account of Jujutsu Kaisen PR posted that Jujutsu Kaisen will reach its final chapter in the 44th issue of the Weekly Shonen Jump magazine. The issue will be out on Monday, September 30th. So, in just a bit more than a month, you have to bid Jujutsu Kaisen adieu. The story of jujutsu sorcerers and cursed techniques will be wrapped up in chapter 271.
The official YouTube channel of Shonen Jump also posted a press video announcing the finale of the popular series. Jujutsu Kaisen has been one of the best sellers of Shonen Jump, along with My Hero Academia and One Piece. The trio had become the most popular manga featured in the Weekly Shonen Jump. While My Hero Academia ended on August 5th, 2024, One Piece is already in its final saga. The news of Jujutsu Kaisen‘s ending has thus reached fans like a nail to the heart.
The battle between Yuji and Sukuna is in full swing in the latest chapter of Jujutsu Kaisen, and neither seems ready to give up. Megumi’s life, on the other hand, hangs in uncertainty. There have been so many deaths in the manga that people are scared of having a favorite character anymore. In fact, readers still have no inkling if Gege Akutami will let Yuji win or if Sukuna will dominate and destroy the world.
Gojo Satoru’s Return Seems Impossible as Jujutsu Kaisen Has Too Few Chapters Left
The most tragic event of Jujutsu Kaisen occurred in chapter 236 of the manga. The chapter was released in September last year and carried the unforgettable dying moments of Gojo Satoru, the single most popular character of Jujutsu Kaisen. The popularity of Gojo, coupled with Gege Akutami’s insane decision to kill him off, had sparked an insane amount of death threats and memes at the time.
But after the initial rage died down, fans were left with an empty heart and draining hope for Gojo to return. Several times in between, fans thought that Akutami was hinting at Gojo’s return but it never turned out to be true. Still, fans never let their hopes die completely, but with the fast-approaching end of the manga, it seems like Akutami never intended to revive Gojo after all.
Jujutsu Kaisen only has five chapters left to go, and this is clearly not enough for Satoru Gojo to return to the series. The ongoing struggle between Yuji and Sukuna, along with Megumi’s fate, is already taking up plenty of space in the chapters, with no hints towards Gojo.
If Gojo were to return at this point and defeat Sukuna, all the accolades would belong to him, completely disregarding Yuji, the protagonist. Thus, it is unlikely that Gojo will ever return, and it is high time for you to say your goodbyes and let him rest in peace.
