Capcom has recently reignited hope among fans by hinting at its plans to revisit and potentially revive some of its old franchises. This buzz started with the announcement of the Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, which serves as a modernized version of the original game and is packed with new features and updates.

During an interview with the development team behind the remaster, it was revealed that the publisher is keen on revisiting other classic series, leading fans to wonder what might be next on the list.

For many, the mention of reviving old IPs immediately brings Dino Crisis to mind. This survival horror series, which combined dinosaurs and tense gameplay, was a standout in the early 2000s.

Yet, despite its popularity, the franchise has been dormant since 2003. The hope for a revival isn’t just wishful thinking. Earlier this year, the publisher conducted a survey asking fans which games they’d like to see revived, with Dino Crisis being one of the top choices. Fans took to social media, expressing their desire for either a remake or a new entry in the series.

The publisher’s recent activities are a direct result of fan expectations, as proven with all of these Resident Evil remakes, and continues with a rumored Code Veronica remake.

What’s Next for The Studio?

Just last month, the company celebrated Dino Crisis’ 25th anniversary with a post on its social media accounts, further fueling speculation.

Additionally, industry insiders have hinted that the developer is actively working on something related to the series. Jeff Grubb, a well-known and trusted source in the gaming community, claimed that the studio is considering a new game in the franchise.

He even suggested that this project is already in the works, though it remains unclear whether it would be a remake, much like the recent Resident Evil remakes, or an entirely new installment.

While the publisher has not officially confirmed anything, the signs are promising. The company’s recent remaster and remake projects and fan engagement through surveys suggest that it is paying close attention to what players want, and will hopefully deliver on it.

For now, though, fans are left to speculate and hope that Dino Crisis will be the next franchise to get a modern revival. Whether through a fresh new game or a faithful remake, the return of the series would undoubtedly be a hit among long-time fans and the new generation of gamers alike.
