Fans are speculating online that Arkane Studios’ upcoming Blade game, initially announced as an Xbox exclusive, might eventually make its way to the PlayStation 5. The discussion heated up after noticing Xbox’s recent shift in its strategy regarding exclusive titles, especially after Gamescom.
While it is still possible that the game could be an Xbox exclusive, the idea that it could also be released on PS5 has gained traction among gamers. This possibility raises questions about whether the game will be a simultaneous launch across both platforms or follow games like Indiana Jones and The Great Circle, which is now a timed exclusive.
Fans Speculate That Arkane’s Blade Game May Not Remain an Xbox Exclusive
Arkane does have a history of releasing multi-platform titles, such as the Dishonored series, Prey, and most recently Deathloop, although that was before the Bethesda acquisition.

The studio’s reputation for narrative-driven, single-player experiences suggests that they might want to reach a broader audience with this game. If the studio decides to go down this route, Blade could potentially be available on both Xbox and PlayStation consoles, much to the delight of PS5 owners.
The likelihood of a multi-platform release cannot be entirely dismissed, especially considering Xbox’s growing trend toward making games more accessible across different consoles and platforms.
When Microsoft acquired Bethesda Softworks back in 2021, it raised concerns among PlayStation users about future exclusivity. Since then, several high-profile titles like Hi-Fi Rush, Redfall, and Starfield have been released exclusively on Xbox, although a few exclusives like Hi-Fi Rush, Pentiment, Grounded, and Sea of Thieves came over to the PS5 earlier this year.
Microsoft’s stance on exclusivity has been somewhat flexible, often considering it on a “case-by-case” basis. This approach leaves the door open for the game to potentially be a multi-platform title.
Xbox’s Evolving Strategy and Blade’s Potential Release
Given all of this, the real question is whether Blade will launch on PS5 simultaneously with Xbox or be a timed exclusive for Xbox first. Looking at the recent example of Indiana Jones and The Great Circle, which was initially an Xbox exclusive before being announced for the PS5, fans wonder if this game might follow a similar pattern.
On the other hand, games like Doom: The Dark Ages, which will launch on both platforms simultaneously, offer hope that Blade could also be available on PS5 at launch.
The lack of a clear statement from the publisher after the game’s reveal at The Game Awards last year up until now adds to the uncertainty and just leaves fans to speculate and hope.
Given that Blade is set to be a single-player, narrative-driven action game with a likely mature rating, it will undoubtedly draw a lot of attention from fans of the genre and would best serve as a non-exclusive.
The game is expected to feature Arkane’s signature approach to game design, featuring immersive storytelling and innovative gameplay mechanics.
However, without official confirmation regarding platform exclusivity, fans will have to wait and see whether the game will be available on PS5 at launch or remain an Xbox exclusive, at least for the time being since the game is likely several years away from release.
