C. H. Greenblatt developed the animated comedy Jellystone! including reimagined characters from Hanna-Barbera studios. Greenblatt was a fan of the studios’ cartoon content and called the series a “love letter” during an interview with Animation Scoop. He particularly shared that he didn’t want to replace the iconic characters with his versions.

According to ComicBook.com, the series is going to feature more classic characters from nostalgic Cartoon Network shows. A crossover episode, called Crisis on Infinite Mirths, will feature as the season finale of the ongoing third season. The title is a play on the DC Comics crossover series, Crisis on Infinite Earths. It got an animated film series adaptation earlier this year.

Max Animation tweeted regarding the episode, revealing that the Kids Next Door characters, Samurai Jack, Bloo from Foster’s Home, and I. R. Baboon from Cow and Chicken will appear in it. Greg Eagles, who voiced the Grim Reaper in The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy, tweeted his involvement in the episode, hinting that all OG voice actors would probably return.

When @randy_wentworth revealed the news of over 60 characters appearing in the crossover on Instagram, it invoked mixed emotions in fans. While a good section of the fans are excited about the crossover, others are skeptical about the series ruining these classic characters. Some also wanted to know whether their favorite characters would appear in the series. Some of the fan reactions read:
