In the screenshot, the title “Directer’s Cut” is not a typo as it might seem but references the game’s Director character, a hidden final boss that appears at the end of the Vampire Survivors’ campaign. According to Laura, this new version brings “new wild characters, stages, weapons, accessories, and evolutions”.

Among these new characters are a “multi-limbed angel, pink woman, little devil, Santa Claus, werewolf, spaceman, big skull, constellation frog angel and winged egg,” said Dale’s post-screening testimony. The game was also filmed by her who believes she is the only one invited to the test.

She also claims that the title was not for sale and that she was taken from room to room to try out the game. Vampire Survivors is set to arrive on Nintendo Switch on August 17th and features the fan-favorite local co-op mode for up to four players that will be made available to all other versions of the game on the same date.

Vampire Survivors Directer's Cut can amp the hype of the fans

For those unfamiliar, Vampire Survivors is a roguelike Shoot ’em Up in which players can choose from several characters that automatically attack while the player fights waves of monsters to survive for as long as possible. The games were critically successful and secured Best Game and Best Design awards at the BAFTA Games Awards in March.

Released in October 2022, the game has gained a lot of popularity after the awards, surpassing other favorites from last year like God of War: Ragnarok and Elden Ring. The game is available for Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam and is free for Android and iPhone (iOS).

As you progress through the game, your survivor levels up and can increase their abilities by upgrading accessories and weapons throughout the campaign. These accumulated skills create graphic effects like in bullet hell style games. Both the easy accessibility of the game and its gameplay encourage the player to want “Just one more game” after losing, which keeps its fans hooked for hours.
