Gaming giant Ubisoft is working on remastering as many as six titles, according to an industry insider. Titles including Far Cry 3 and Rainbow Six Vegas 1 and 2 are reportedly being revisited, and it follows a trend happening with several other industry giants who are reworking previous games to bring them up to date for the current-gen consoles.

There is also a rumor of at least two new Rainbow Six games, with the proposed titles possibly noted as Rainbow Six Reborn and Rainbow Six Secret Wars. However, it appears that Ubisoft is not limiting itself to console remakes, as mobile games are becoming part of its focus on portable platforms.

What We Know About the Rumored Ubisoft Remasters

Ubisoft
Far Cry 3 could be one of the titles to see a potential remaster from Ubisoft.

The industry insider going by UBI_Frax on social media site X posted the reported updates, but according to the account bio, they have no affiliation with Ubisoft. It may be that these rumored remasters have to be taken with a pinch of salt, as there is no official confirmation from the company itself as to whether the games will indeed be updated.

Another game listed is Prince of Persia: Sands of Time, but this is hardly new information, given that we have known about the remaster of this title for several years and would have had it by now had it not been for repeated delays. Despite this, the buzz around the community is certainly increasing with the prospect of classic titles being remastered.

A critically acclaimed title at the time of release, it is perhaps no surprise to see Far Cry 3 being remastered nearly a decade after release. Much loved for its compelling storyline and its variety of characters, the third entry into the franchise was a significant improvement over its predecessors and won many awards, leading to several sequels.

Given these rumors, a Splinter Cell remake would also be more than welcome, and although there are no developments at the time of writing, given how popular the game is with fans, it may be that this will be another title that could see a potential remaster at some point in the future.

Not just content with games, it appears that Ubisoft is venturing into the world of television as well. The 2017 medieval action fighting game For Honor is rumored to be one title that the company is looking to bring from console to live action, and given the background, some fans may be scratching their heads as to how that will work.

Further to this is Watch Dogs Lagos, which is rumored to be developed into an anime series, and a Hello World TV series, which may or may not be linked to Watch Dogs. Watch Dogs: YOU ARE ELLE is an even greater prospect for Ubisoft, as this has been announced as a movie project and further proves that the company is trying to mimic others by trying to promote its titles in other forms of entertainment.

However, judging by some of the comments on social media, many fans would rather have a new Watch Dogs game than see it brought to live action. That being said, some fans do appear excited by this prospect.

Fans are delighted by the prospect of seeing Rainbow Six: Vegas titles remastered.

With the current trend of remastering classic titles, it was perhaps only a matter of time before Ubisoft decided to revisit some of their greatest hits. Far Cry 3 is certainly the most obvious choice, along with Rainbow Six: Vegas, and there’s no doubt fans of these titles will be looking forward to picking up the remastered versions.
