One of Chalamet’s most publicized relationships has been his year-long stint with actress Lily-Rose Depp. US Weekly broke the news in 2018 that the two were spotted in New York City flirting with each other and kissing as they were on a date. The two were captured in downtown NYC in the morning and a source said,
“They were walking down the street and he stopped her and pulled her close. They started making out for a while, for over a minute…[they were] holding hands and seemed like they were in their own little world…They were pretty playful and flirty with each other.”

The photos reportedly became fodder for many memes as the two were involved in a steamy makeout session on a yacht. Chalamet would later open up about the incident in 2020, long after the duo broke up. The actor was reportedly embarrassed by the photos which went viral. He told in an interview with GQ,
“I went to bed that night thinking that was one of the best days of my life. I was on this boat all day with someone I really loved, and closing my eyes, I was like, indisputably, ‘That was great.’ And then waking up to all these pictures, and feeling embarrassed, and looking like a real nob? All pale?”
Timothée Chalamet also mentioned that he was taken by surprise when people accused the couple of doing this as a PR stunt. He mentioned that it was bizarre that people would assume that he was okay with looking that embarrassed in front of everyone. He said,
“And then people are like: This is a P.R. stunt. A P.R. stunt?! Do you think I’d want to look like that in front of all of you?!”
