Having worked with all of these extremely talented people, it is safe to assume that Willis has a great understanding of the difference between good and bad directors. This is why it is extremely surprising to find out that the actor had an awful experience working with a very well-known director. During an interview, Willis revealed that his time working with Michael Bay on the 1998 movie, Armageddon, was so bad that he never wishes to work with him again.

Bruce Willis Had An Unpleasant Time On Armageddon

Bruce Willis gave an interview on Ain’t It Cool, via FemaleFirst, where he talked about his experience working on one of his most well-known films to this date; Armageddon. The film had an exceptional cast of actors, with Ben Affleck, Liv Tyler, and Owen Wilson being part of its cast, and it also had Michael Bay as its director. The controversial filmmaker has become the subject of a lot of debate in the film industry, and it would seem that the Die Hard actor is also aversive towards him. During this interview, Willis confessed to having a horrible experience on the set of this film.

“It was a great crew, but a screaming director does not make for a pleasant set experience. But look, we were all big boys, and we got through it.”

The actor mentioned that the crew and the cast of the film provided a great work environment. It was the director that made the experience negative for him. The actor mentioned that the Bay used to scream a lot on set, being loudly, and vocally critical when things did not go his way. Willis pointed out that these sorts of work conditions were not someone he appreciated and found productive, which made the entire experience very negative for him.

Bruce Willis Will Not Collaborate With Michael Bay Again

Michael Bay has a reputation for being extremely difficult to work with, as well as being a disliked figure in the film industry. On top of being criticized for the way he chooses to portray women in his films, many actors have accused him of creating a toxic work environment. Megan Fox famously compared the director to Adolf Hitler when he was working, being very rude and loud. These comments have made a majority of people in Hollywood not interested in working on his projects.
