Aaron Taylor-Johnson Was Naked On Stage At The Age Of Eight

When Aaron Taylor-Johnson was only the age of eight, he starred in the play Macbeth. Here, he played the role of Macduff’s son and starred alongside The Diplomat actor, Rufus Sewell. Having played this character, the then-young, actor was required to be in a bathtub three nights a week where he was tragically murdered on stage.

 “Bollock n*ked,” he emphasizes. “We’re not talking wearing swimming trunks—I was fully n*ked.”

During an interview, Taylor-Johnson revealed that when performing this scene, he was not given anything, like swimming trunks, to cover himself up, having to be completely n-de on stage for the entire audience to see. This on its own is extremely concerning but paired with the fact that the Avengers star was extremely young when this happen makes it all the most horrifying.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson Has A Lot To Unpack From His Early Years In The Film Industry

After saying this, Aaron Taylor-Johnson was asked by his interviewer that now that he is a grown adult, he feels weird about these circumstances and conditions he was put under. To this, the actor stated now that he is looking back, he realizes that he has a lot of things that he has to deal with and unpack for his days acting at such a young age.

“Listen, I think in hindsight you have to unpack a lot from what my childhood was, in an adult industry, in a time like—” He pauses. “Did I feel uncomfortable? Yeah, I probably did.”

Taylor-Johnson went on to elaborate, stating that being as young as he was when he joined the film industry, which is predominantly adult and known for exploiting and taking advantage of anyone that it can, he has had a lot of moments where he felt uncomfortable when he was younger. The actor, however, did not feel comfortable talking about this in public, stating that he had dealt with these things in private and joking that an interview is not a therapy session.
