The Fallout TV show is supposed to release on 11th April 2024 but it is already making waves in the video game and TV series industry. Jonathan Nolan, who directed the first three episodes of the show, opened up about a number of things regarding the filming of the show in recent interviews.

However, one particular TV show comparison might feel pretty out of the blue for fans. It is not The Last of Us. Although Pedro Pascal-starrer has etched its name in history for its amazing adaptation of the video game, it is not the show that Fallout is being compared to. The tone of the movie has been likened to that of The Boys, the Prime Video show based on supers.

Fallout and The Boys Have a Common Tone

Fallout and The Boys share a similar tone.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Jonathan Nolan talked about a range of topics. He discussed his desire to finish Westworld and his journey while bringing the world of Fallout to the screens. When asked about the tone of the series being similar to that of Prime Video’s The Boys, he said,

Absolutely. We’re in a moment right now, where things are so fucking dire in the world, that to have a show that doubles down on that would be a little scary. One of the things about Fallout, it’s not the end of the world, it’s about all these beginnings for a new world.

While the world of The Boys revolves around super-powered beings like the Homelander or A-Train, Fallout deals with survivors from the nuclear fallout. But, both shows display a world that is somehow in an even worse state than the reality that we currently live in.

And according to Nolan, any show that doubles down on this world is bound to be a bit scary. However, he emphasized that Fallout should not treated as a show based on the end of the world. Instead, it is about the new beginnings that are going to be emphasized in a post-apocalyptic world, probably highlighting the resilience and perseverance of humanity. The shooting was so rigorous that Walton Goggins was once mistaken for crying when he was just sweating.

Fallout Has High Expectations From Fans

Scheduled to release on 11th April 2024, the show has already garnered a massive fan following. But The Last of Us has raised the bar considerably when it comes to TV adaptations of video games.

The retro-futurism aesthetic of the Fallout TV show is another aspect that endears fans. Along with the prospect of getting to look at ‘Eisenhower-era America‘ is skyrocketing anticipation regarding the show.

The single biggest lie told all around is, "It isn't that simple." It is simple, everything is. And that is what I emulate in my writing. No unnecessary jargons and no flamboyant flourish. Just what's needed to get your imagination going. After all mind has no limit, unlike the written word.
