Director Emma Tammi Wants to Return for a Sequel
EmmaTammi, who began her career with documentary films like 2014’s Fair Chase and Election Day: Lens Across America in 2017 before directing the supernatural horror film The Wind in 2018 talked about her desire to go for a sequel of her recent hit Five Nights at Freddy’s.
While speaking of sequels in a chat with Variety, the filmmaker expressed her wish to get Mark Fischbach, mostly known as Markiplier in her sequel. Markiplier was supposed to feature in the film but he could not due to a scheduling conflict. She said:
“Absolutely, Mark is a part of this franchise through and through. We reached out and we all hoped to make it work. Unfortunately we were filming at the same time Markiplier was filming his film, and the scheduling didn’t work out for this one. But we would love to include him moving forward.”
“We’re definitely excited to keep making more movies in this world, should we be lucky enough to do that,” she said, adding, “This one was tied into the first game, and we would probably focus on tying the second one into the second game, and so on and so forth. But anything could happen. We’ll have to see.”
“I’d love to not shut down anyone’s theories. We have some loose ends that I think are going to have to come back in a sequel to be tied up,” she said while speaking with The Hollywood Reporter.
The film is produced by Blumhouse Productions and distributed by Universal Pictures.
