Despite the ill-fate the Marvel Cinematic Universe has been experiencing for a while, its craze and influence on fans and actors hasn’t diminished. Each day on the internet, one can witness the influx of new theories, casting rumors, speculations, and actors pitching themselves for every and any role in the billion-dollar-worth film franchise, including the newly announced, Fantastic Four.
After the many rumors of Henry Cavill (the former defender of the Earth in the DCEU) joining the MCU as Doctor Doom or some other Marvel character, one Oppenheimer star is eager to enter the Marvel realm as an underrated Fantastic Four villain.
One Oppenheimer Star Wants To Play An Underrated Fantastic Four Villain
After years of speculation, rumors, and fan requests, Marvel’s first family is ready to make its Marvel Cinematic Universe debut. The Fantastic Four have remained one of the most popular team-ups in the world of Marvel comics. Despite appearing thrice on the big screen, their appearance has been disappointing.
But now with a whole new cast and storyline set in the MCU, things have been looking good, finally. While Marvel revealed the cast of the four leads, they haven’t yet revealed who will be starring as the mythos iconic villain, Doctor Doom. While rumors of Henry Cavill starring as Doom have been going viral, Oppenheimer star, David Krumholtz has pitched himself as the terribly underrated yet deadly Fantastic Four villain, Mole Man.
After posting the photo of the deadly villain on his X account tagging Marvel Studios and revealing he campaigned hard for the role of The Thing in the upcoming movie, he stated to Entertainment Weekly,
“It’s not a joke at all [his social media post]. I mean, it’s a shoe-in for Mole Man, isn’t it? But I don’t know. I’ll do anything Marvel tells me to.”
Mole Man, born Harvey Elder, is a genius shunned for his appearance. He discovered Subterranea and eventually started an underground race called Moloid. Despite initially wanting to seek peace and acceptance, he turned into a cruel villain, often attacking the surface world and clashing with heroes, particularly with the Fantastic Four. Despite being a powerful and cruel evildoer who has challenged heroes like the Avengers, Elder remains a largely underrated villain (via Marvel).
While there has been no news of Mole Man appearing on the big screen anytime soon or who will be the villain in the upcoming Fantastic Four movie, fans sure are loving the idea of Krumholtz playing the moley villain.
Henry Cavill to Play Doctor Doom in Fantastic Four
Ever since Henry Cavill’s tragic departure/firing from his role as Superman from the DCEU, fans have been contesting hard to have him join the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Stating that he is too good of an actor and too good-looking a human being to not be a superhero character anymore, fans have pitched him for a variety of roles in the MCU, such as Hyperion and Captain Britain.
All over the internet, particularly X, various rumors are stating that Cavill is in the talks to star as the iconic villain in MCU’s Fantastic Four. While some fans are delighted in case the rumors are true, others don’t want the actor to star as anything other than Captain Britain.
Moreover, as per a scooper on X, @MyTimeToShineH, the actor has been offered some other role in the MCU and has supposedly accepted the part. This rumor or claim, has further added to the mystery and speculation.
As for who will play Doctor Doom if not Cavill, and whether he is finally joining the MCU, only time will tell!
