Blade reboot faced several delays in the past and has continued to witness halts in its production. Sources have stated that Mahershala Ali himself is one of the reasons why the movie was delayed, the actor asked Marvel Studios to revise the screenplay on multiple occasions as he was not satisfied with the way the movie had been progressing in pre-production so Ali took the matter into his own hands.

Scott’s career was doomed in November 2021 when at least ten people died and hundreds were injured in a crowd crush moving toward the stage during Scott’s performance at the Astroworld Festival in NRG Park in Houston, Texas. Scott was blamed as he continued performing despite the situation getting out of hand.

As a result, a lawsuit was filed by the attendees, started by Kristian Paredes, who filed for $1,000,000 due to the injuries he received. A Texas grand jury declined to indict Scott in a criminal probe of crowd surge.

The incident took a massive toll on Scott’s career and his mental health. To top it all off, Scott’s relationship with Kylie Jenner came to an end in January 2023.
