Since then he has been unstoppable and has delivered wonderful performances that even earned him a Golden Globe. Seeing his acting prowess, fans were quick to claim that he would make a perfect Wolverine after Hugh Jackman’s departure.

There is no doubt that Taron Egerton is a wonderful actor. Known for effortlessly blending genres, he is an incredibly versatile actor. For fans to see Egerton star in a Disney movie would be a wish come true since he is also a pretty good singer himself. As per recent reports, it has been claimed that the Kingsman star is in talks with Walt Disney Pictures for a live-action remake of Hercules.

The animated classic which was released in 1997 features the Greek hero, Hercules’ journey to becoming the true hero he is after being stripped of his superpowers. And as per the many rumors, Taron Egerton is said to star as the mighty Greek hero. Among the many mythical characters, Hercules remains the top favorite of movie-goers. And when there already have been multiple representations of the character, it would be interesting to see what the Rocketman star has to offer.

While there hasn’t been any official announcement, it has been revealed that Guy Ritchie would be the one directing it. Furthermore, not only is Danny DeVito expected to reprise his role as Philoctetes in the live-action remake, but popstar Ariana Grande is expected to play Megara, Hercule’s love interest. The movie is predicted to begin production next year and the release date has still not been announced.

Taron Egerton Does Not Want To Be Wolverine

Now who, in their right mind, would not want to be part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe? While most actors would sell their souls to be a Marvel star, Taron Egerton has no wish to become one despite being a fan favorite cast for Wolverine.

While in February 2022, it was revealed that the Kingsman star would be excited to become part of the MCU, his sentiments have since changed. In a recent interview, he stated how he is too old for Wolverine and isn’t even sure anymore whether he would be tempted for any other role in the billion-grossing franchise.

“Well, the one that I mentioned is up for grabs, but I’m too old for it now. I think that ship has probably sailed.. I’m not going to be the guy to play Wolverine. There’s no signs pointing towards that being the thing. And I just don’t know if I’m maybe… I don’t know. Maybe I’m getting to the point where that’s not what I want any more. I don’t know.”

While he does enjoy the movies, the star isn’t confident about them being the right thing for his career. Although, fans would love to see him as a Marvel character, seems like Egerton has his own plans.
