Taron Egerton Hints Return To The Kingsman Franchise

In an interview with Collider, Taron Egerton revealed he knows exactly what he wants to do in the next installment of the Kingsman film series:

I have an idea for Kingsman. I have my own idea that I would like to pitch to Matthew, and I think that will be happening soon, but he has the wheels in motion on a big idea of his own. But he has every intention of making it, and I have every intention of playing Eggsy one more time.”

The actor confessed his attachment to the role, stating how it changed his life and started his career, and why he wants to give it a suitable finale:

That was always what I thought I was committed to doing. It’s the role that made my name, so I suppose, in a way, I just want it to be absolutely right if we do it again, and I want the story to do justice to the part that really changed my life. I want it to be a fitting ending.”

Matthew Vaughn has previously shared his intentions for Eggsy and Harry as a dynamic duo. The director hinted at a twist in the tandem’s relationship, stating he wanted to challenge their friendship:

I saw how people loved the relationship of Eggsy and Harry. So we just came up with this thing, what could be the ultimate reason for them to either fall in love or to hate each other forever? So that’s what this movie is all about.”

Colin Firth is also down to reprise his role as Harry Hart according to Egerton. The latter confirmed his co-star “would come back for at least a part of it” and that he is definitely “not backing off the idea.” A prequel film was released in 2021, The King’s Man, which seemingly suggested Vaughn’s plan to create his own Kingsman universe, too.
