One Piece seems to have ruled 2023, with not only the live adaptation but also with the manga and anime, especially due to Bartholomew Kuma and Gear 5 Monkey D. Luffy.
But recently, another character has headlined the One Piece world after an insane crossover. The character is none other than our beloved sniper, Usopp, a.k.a. Sogeking. Jacob Romero Gibson plays the role of Live Action Usopp in Netflix’s show. At Jump Festa 2024, he created a crossover with the original voice artist of Usopp, Yamaguchi Kappei, and the fans could not believe their eyes.

Jacob Romero Gibson blew everyone’s mind with live-action Usopp, and the fans agreed that Eiichiro Oda did a great job with the casting. He did justice to the character by showcasing his humor and sniping capabilities. Usopp’s dream is to be a brave warrior of the sea, and with One Piece in its final saga, we might soon see it happen. But before anime Usopp could get his wish fulfilled, it looks like live-action Usopp got his wish fulfilled.

Recently, the One Piece fandom was stunned to see a collaboration between Jacob Romero Gibson and Yamaguchi Kappei at Jump Festa 2024. The live-action Usopp and the original voice actor of Usopp posted pictures together. In one of the pictures, both of them were posing in the iconic Usopp stance of shooting his bow. Yamaguchi Kappei has also dubbed Usopp’s voice in Japanese for Netflix’s One Piece Live Action.
Yamaguchi Kappei has been the voice artist of Usopp for more than two decades, and it was an honor for Jacob Romero Gibson to meet the legend in person. All the cast members, including him, a big fans of Eiichiro Oda’s magnum opus. Thanks to Netflix’s One Piece Live Action, everyone is getting their wish fulfilled, along with the fans who got to see such a great crossover.

Jacob Romero Gibson and Yamaguchi Kappei were present at Jump Festa 2024, but that does not mean they have free time. 2024 will be a hectic year for them. The former will be busy shooting season 2 of One Piece Live Action, and the latter will resume his work as Usopp’s voice artist in the anime. Apart from that, Yamaguchi will also be voicing Usopp in WIT Studios’ latest project, The One Piece, which is a remake of One Piece’s East Blue Saga with better graphics.
The Usopp crossover was a great surprise for the fans, and it can be considered a gift from the artists’ to the fandom. As it goes, the fans are never satisfied.
