Since the beginning of the Dragon Ball series, the protagonist, Goku, has constantly trained and worked hard to surpass his previous self and unlock a new power that has helped him not only defeat his enemies but also save the world. Earlier, it was the Super Saiyan transformations, and now it is the Ultra Instinct that was introduced in Dragon Ball Super.
While it was previously believed that Ultra Instinct might be the final power-up that Goku achieves, there have been multiple theories about the Saiyan once again breaking his barriers and moving to the next level of strength. However, it might take a lot for him to reach that level. This transformation was deemed to be Super Saiyan White.
Although there has been no indication of Super Saiyan White entering the narrative anytime soon, one particular theory suggests that Akira Toriyama, the creator of Dragon Ball, might have already sown the seeds of Super Saiyan White, and it might need Goku to combine Ultra Instinct and the Super Saiyan form.
Akira Toriyama Mentioned Super Saiyan White
In an old interview with V-Jump, Toriyama once talked about a Super Saiyan transformation having white hair. He pointed out that originally he wanted the Super Saiyan form in Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection ‘F’ to have white hair, but because of the color clash with their next enemy, the creator decided to give them blue hair and save the white transformation for later.
Akira Toriyama was talking about fused Zamasu in the Future Trunks saga, which is the fourth saga of Dragon Ball Super. Fused Zamasu had white hair, and it would have clashed with the Super Saiyan transformation, so he saved it for later. But ever since then, there has been no mention of a Super Saiyan White transformation.
However, fans are still waiting for Goku to turn Super Saiyan White and have even devised multiple theories that explain how Goku could potentially unlock his strongest Super Saiyan transformation yet. Also, with the ongoing storyline in the manga, there is a chance that Goku might someday attain the Super Saiyan White form.
Dragon Ball Theory Explains How Goku Can Become Super Saiyan White
A theory posted by u/The_Deprived_99 on Reddit states that Goku combining the powers of Ultra Instinct and Super Saiyan could help him transform into Super Saiyan White. According to the Dragon Ball narrative, Ultra Instinct separates consciousness from the body, allowing Goku to attain full control of his emotional state.
However, Super Saiyan transformation, on the other hand, requires the user to reach the maximum level of his rage to unlock the strength. But this aspect of the transformation was mastered by Goku and Gohan during the Cell Games Saga when they were training in the time chamber. It was later referred to as Super Saiyan Full Power.
Thus, there is at least one Super Saiyan transformation where Goku can control his emotions and still manage to use them. Therefore, it gives rise to the theory that if Goku combines his Super Saiyan base form and Ultra Instinct, he might be able to unlock Super Saiyan White and reach his full potential. Although the theory has lots of holes, it is the best explanation for the long-awaited Super Saiyan form in Dragon Ball.
