However, there is one power-up of Goku that may have taken inspiration from another popular anime series. This power-up is called Perfected Ultra Instinct (Giant Form), and it looks like for this ability, Toriyama took inspiration from Masashi Kishimoto’s Naruto. Toriyama’s taking inspiration from Naruto is a big achievement for Kishimoto.

The Giant Form of Ultra Instinct looks a lot like one of the strongest Uchiha techniques, called Susanoo. It made an appearance in Dragon Ball Super on two separate occasions, and it is deemed the strongest Ultra Instinct technique by Dragon Ball fans in Goku’s 40-year journey as the main character of Toriyama’s magnum opus.

Uchiha Clan’s Susanoo is the Strongest Mangekyo Sharingan Technique

Naruto fans are well-versed with Susanoo and how strong the technique is. Susanoo is limited to the Uchiha clan, and it can only be activated by the members who have awakened their Mangekyo Sharingan. It is a giant chakra manifestation of a warrior that wraps around Uchiha clan members, providing both offense and defense.

The giant avatar follows the will of the user and can act accordingly. There are multiple stages of Susanoo that develop over time as the danger around the user increases. Susanoo has been used in Naruto by Itachi, Sasuke, Madara, Kakashi, Shisui, and Indra Otsuktsuki. Among them, the strongest Susanoo is believed to be from Madara and Itachi.

The giant avatar that forms the final stage of Susanoo resembles a warrior who is ready to battle. They usually have wings and a weapon that helps in offensive attacks. The users of Susanoo are generally placed on the forehead of the avatar, providing them with complete safety from the opponent’s attacks.

Goku’s Perfected Ultra Instinct (Giant Form) Strongly Resembles Susanoo

Goku first used the Perfected Ultra Instinct (Giant Form) in Dragon Ball Super by Akira Toriyama. He used it in his fight against Moro, who copied Angel Merus’ powers and was not able to control them. This led to Moro merging with the planet and growing in size to the point where Goku’s attacks did not affect him. He even drained Goku’s energy, making him significantly weaker.

However, Uub and Grand Supreme Kai helped Goku by transferring their God energy to him and granting him a new power-up that had never been seen before. Goku finally unlocks the Perfected Ultra Instinct (Giant Form), which makes it easier for Goku to fight Moro, allowing Goku to defeat him easily.

The Giant Form had an uncanny resemblance to the Susanoo technique from Masashi Kishimoto’s Naruto, as it provided Goku with a strong offense and defense mechanism, with Goku being placed safely in the forehead of the giant avatar. The only difference was that Susanoo adopted the appearance of a warrior, but Goku’s technique in Dragon Ball Super was a giant manifestation of himself.
