Alan Wake 2 is a mysterious journey that has managed to impress those who have been fans of psychological thrillers as well as gamers who are new to the franchise. Remedy Entertainment’s sequel to the gripping tale of a writer coming to terms with his psyche is finally receiving a DLC.
Alan Wake 2: Night Springs arrives on June 8, 2024, and its trailer during the Summer Game Fest showcased an important part of the expansion that seemingly came to be before the game was even developed.
The Game’s Composer Points Out How the Soundtrack Is Older Than the Expansion
![Players are going to explore yet another mystery, but this time about the game's soundtrack.](https://fwmedia.fandomwire.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/08121619/Alan-Wake-2-screenshot-1024x576.jpg)
Petri Alanko, the game’s musical composer, pointed out on Twitter how the Night Springs trailer showcases a soundtrack that’s oddly familiar to many fans. This is because some of these pieces were likely composed way before the original game’s menu theme was even out.
Throughout the years, Petri Alanko has meticulously crafted pieces that have been inspired by Alan Wake’s mind-boggling themes and the bizarreness that Remedy Entertainment is so fond of. Much of the game’s soundtrack often follows the protagonist’s train of thought, and Night Springs is no different.
So many classic pieces in here. I think Night Springs theme was done even before the og Alan Wake’s final menu theme version was done. Gotta check the project file dates… https://t.co/Np2HB3Ox8y

If it’s indeed true that some of the pieces happened way before the game even came to be, it’ll be fascinating to see how they reflect the studio’s creative process before things came to a solid conclusion and ideas were merely sketches on an artist’s canvas.
Alan Wake 2: Night Springs will let players experience the game through three distinct characters. These are individuals who have been an important part of different narratives in Remedy Entertainment’s previous projects. However, one of them takes the spotlight.
The Number One Fan in Alan Wake 2 Deserves a Great Soundtrack
![Alan Wake 2's soundtrack often reflects the mental states of its protagonists.](https://fwmedia.fandomwire.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/08121606/Alan-Wake-2-game-1024x576.jpg)
Considered to be the “Number One Fan”, one of the lead protagonists is a waitress who has crossed paths with players in Alan Wake. Even though she did not have much screen time before, she’ll get to explore the mysterious realm of Alan Wake 2 through the DLC.
Petri Alanko’s creative brilliance will once again see the revival of psychologically thrilling themes that carry the characters’ journey forward. The Number One Fan is going to be a part of this, and fans can expect to hear some memorable pieces as part of the character arcs.
Between the three characters, there’s likely going to be a link that will be best explored by the musical composition. This has been a common theme in games like Control and Alan Wake, so it won’t be surprising to see Remedy make the best of this practice in Night Springs.
