The 26-year-old did her own stunts and mastered martial arts for Echo. She rocked fight scenes using her prosthetic leg. Now, she’s pumped for more roles, proving that disabilities can’t hold back true talent.

The Menominee actress said that she keeps “getting offered all these bad guy roles,” but there are different roles she wants to explore.

Alaqua Cox Aims to Avoid Villainous Roles Post-Marvel Fame

In an interview with Deadline, Alaqua Cox was asked, “What about outside the MCU? What other roles are you looking to take on?” To this, Cox replied:

“Oh my gosh, I keep getting offered all these bad guy roles. And honestly, I want to try something different. I want to try maybe a comedy role or suspense movie. I would love to be able to play a role in a horror film. Those are my favorite kind of films. I loved watching them growing up.”

Although she wasn’t really into acting at first. In an interview with Variety, the actress said that she dropped out of college, not having a clue about life.

She did odd jobs in factories, including working at Amazon and a nursing home. Her only plan was to make money, quit, and travel the world. Cox really didn’t have real future plans, she was just winging it. And now, here she is.

Alaqua Cox Reveals Marvel Hero She Wants to Share the Screen With

Alaqua Cox wants to see Maya Lopez and Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch share the screen in an MCU crossover. Played by Elizabeth Olsen, the Earth-616 version of Wanda was last seen in 2022’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Speaking with CinemaBlend, Cox was asked if there are any existing MCU characters she’d like to tussle with or team up against in a potential crossover. “The first person that comes to mind is WandaVision or Scarlet Witch. I’d love to see her,” Cox answered.

When asked about Maya’s future in the MCU following her Disney+ miniseries, Cox teased that she sees “Maya appearing in more Daredevil stuff for sure,” expressing, “That would be awesome to see that happen. So, fingers crossed.”
