Helldivers 2 is a game that is constantly growing and changing. It’s commendable that its developer, Arrowhead Game Studios, has dedicated themselves to making it one of the most detailed and dynamic live service games of all time. And they seem to be succeeding too; thanks to their incredible attention to detail, fans are already getting incredibly focused on this game’s lore.

With this kind of ever-changing nature, one thing is for sure: Helldivers 2 will keep its players engaged for a long time. But this also means that there would always be some changes that players would ask of the developers. Sometimes those changes would be about this ever-changing world, and other times they would be about its gameplay.

Publisher Sony and developer Arrowhead Game Studios have really made a very interesting game. The first incredible thing it did was become a surprise hit when no one was even expecting it to be. The result is that this game is currently one of the most-played live service titles online.

Then they gave this game the kind of narrative that is both very simple and convoluted at the same time. In one way, this game is a straightforward sci-fi action game featuring a galactic war between Helldivers and some factions looking to just take over and ruin the galaxy.

On the other hand, it’s a game with a real person acting as a Game Master. They are working day and night to make sure this game keeps things challenging enough for its player base. They keep changing things from easy to hard, and they change the tide of war the moment someone thinks they are about to win. This is a stroke of genius, and it has led to some really noteworthy historical events in the game.

Besides all these things, the developers, especially the CEO of Arrowhead Game Studios, have been keeping their ears and eyes open on Twitter for any suggestions that gamers might have. And they have been actively replying to any suggestions or criticism that any gamer might have about Helldivers 2.

And now, after asking for a bunch of things, such as nerfing a bunch of guns and asking the developers to ease that dynamic difficulty thing, they have asked for something bigger. The gamers have demanded that developers make dealing with the Bug Breaches a bit easier.

To be specific, they have asked that when they breach the battleground, bugs should use a hole in the ground. This would make them easier to deal with, and players would be able to close down that hole by simply tossing a grenade into it.

This is no doubt a great idea, but it’s certainly not an original one. Veteran Gears of War players would recognize that a similar mechanic is used when locusts spawn in that franchise. In those games too, players are required to throw a grenade into a hole to make sure it is closed and stop the spawn of the locusts.

There hasn’t been any response from the studio regarding this change as of yet. But with such a large number of fans asking for something, it would be weird for them to not respond.
