Hugh Jackman has been known around the world for portraying the role of Wolverine in the X-Men franchise throughout the years. With his retirement from the X-Men franchise with Logan, the actor will be making a comeback in the upcoming Deadpool 3 movie.
As the world gears up for the MCU version of Wolverine, it’s time to take a little trip down memory lane when Hugh Jackman almost lost his manhood. Surrounded by females and wielding metal claws, the story can never be not funny!
When Hugh Jackman Almost Lost His Manhood!
It was during the time of 2014 when the cast of X-Men: Days of Future Past appeared in an interview with Graham Norton. Starring on The Graham Norton Show, the trio of Hugh Jackman, Michael Fassbender, and, James McAvoy talked about their time in the franchise.
With Jackman being one of the earliest members of the X-Men franchise, the actor had quite a funny story to tell. The Logan star revealed that while filming the 2013 movie The Wolverine, Jackman revealed in a YouTube video that he had an intense moment when he nearly chopped off his p*nis in an incident that involved his Wolverine claws (which were made of metal) and female members of the crew!
“There was a very intense first scene and I insisted on a closed set. I ran round the corner and all the female members of the crew were gathered there. I tried to cover myself and cut my inner thigh – it was just the inner thigh thankfully!”
The actor jokingly added,
“The metal claws had to go – you can’t have bits and pieces flying off”
As the interview went on, Hugh Jackman claimed that despite the incident, being naked on the set was a “very freeing feeling” and that he “quite enjoyed” it. The actor is known for his muscular physique and thus, other stars couldn’t help but reach out to Jackman on how to get in shape!
When Robert Downey Jr. Contacted Hugh Jackman For Help!
Since Jackman has been portraying the role of Wolverine since 2000, Robert Downey Jr. did not hesitate a second in contacting the actor after he bagged the role of Iron Man. In an interview with Britain’s Notebook (via Contact Music), Jackman revealed that he helped Downey Jr. get in shape for the role of Tony Stark.
“Half of Hollywood [plays superheroes] now… When Robert first got the part of Iron Man he reached out to me and said, ‘Mate, can you just share with me the diet and how to get in shape?’ because he knew I wasn’t in shape before it, so there’s a little bit of that [sharing that goes on between actors].”
Known around the world for portraying the role of Wolverine in the X-Men franchise, people are ecstatically waiting for Jackman to reprise his role and join the MCU with Deadpool 3. Ryan Reynolds recently confirmed that the shooting for Deadpool 3 is over (with an overtly weird crotch shot on Instagram) while the film is set for a release date of 26 July 2024 in theaters across the U.S.
