It is no new knowledge that James Gunn is rebooting the entire DC Universe. One of these interesting characters is Michael Carter aka Booster Gold. Previously having made appearances in Smallville and Legends of Tomorrow, the character would be getting his own TV series. And now American Pie star, Seann William Scott has shown interest in the role, and even fans can’t help but agree he would be a perfect fit for the titular superhero.

Booster Gold or Michael Carter is a fictional character well-loved by DC fans. Having already appeared in some capacity in Smallville, Legion of Super-Heroes, Batman: The Brave and the Bold, and other shows, fans have been wanting to see more of the titular character. And when James Gunn announced the Booster Gold TV series (see CinemaBlend), fans were absolutely elated, even pitching their own ideas as to who should star as the superhero.

Although the cast or details for the TV series haven’t been revealed yet, the American Pie star Seann William Scott went on to pitch himself for the role of the time-traveling superhero while talking to ComicBook.com. Asked if he would ever do a superhero movie and what character he would be interested in, he stated,

“I definitely would. I’d love to. I think it’d be fun to do a comic book movie. I think the first character that came to mind was — Booster Gold could be very fun, but I think I’m too old for it… I don’t know if he’s supposed to be younger, but that character, I was like ‘That I could.’ I just don’t remember his age, but it was like ‘That’s a great character.'”

The Wrath of Becky star later added,

“Come on, James Gunn! Let’s go!”

While DC fans are known to be pretty obstinate when it comes to casting, they have been surprisingly welcome to have Scott star as Booster Gold.

Sean William Scott is an underrated actor despite being an excellent actor with great on-screen charisma and wit. Having impeccable comedic timing, the star is also a charming talker just like Carter. With Carter being more of an underdog with great athletic abilities, Scott’s history of roles and dedication towards challenging roles proves he is more than capable of donning the mantle of Booster Gold. And hence, fans were quick to welcome Scott as a potential choice for the role.

While James Gunn hasn’t spoken up yet on the matter or on the show, he should probably look into the fans’ request for it isn’t always that DC fans seem this excited about an actor.

As of yet, the Booster Gold series’ details are yet to be announced.
