The news came from the Twitter account Ana de Armas Updates, and here’s what the tweet stated:
“Fun Fact: Ana de Armas was the runner-up for the role of ‘Catwoman’ in THE BATMAN. The role ended up going to Zoë Kravitz.”
Well, the reason why Zoë Kravitz was picked over Ana de Armas was never revealed, but it would have been brilliant to see de Armas portraying the role of Catwoman. Luckily, the actress found other opportunities in movies like No Time to Die, Blonde, and The Gray Man.
Ana de Armas Did Not Want To Be Typecast Into Latin-Specific Roles!
Born in Cuba, the actress felt a lot of freedom during her childhood. Stating that she explored nature and the beach, the actress later shifted and moved to the United States. “I grew up in nature, at the beach, and playing on the streets with friends. I felt very free. Just going wild out there and coming back home to have dinner and watch cartoons,”

“I said, ‘I don’t want to audition for Maria, Juana, and Lola and all these things. I want to audition for the same parts that everybody is auditioning for,’”
