Angelina Jolie is all set to return in an exciting action movie featuring Halle Berry alongside her. The upcoming Maude v Maude is slated to pit the actresses in a ‘Bond vs Bourne’ setup with a tinge of comedy. It is also described as an amalgamation of Jolie’s superhit Mr. & Mrs. Smith and Tom Cruise’s iconic Mission Impossible franchise.
As Halle Berry graced the Red Sea Film Festival, she highlighted several unheard details from her upcoming feature alongside Angelina Jolie. She revealed that the project had a rocky start as both the divas didn’t get along well. However, she spoke positively of it and is of the notion that it would eventually help them in the movie.

Maude v Maude will mark the return of two iconic action actresses on the big screens. It is described as a mix between Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s matchmaking movie and the iconic Mission Impossible franchise with a comedy twist.
Halle Berry has been quite active on the internet with the project. Recently she took to X to state that somebody has said that the project is a “mother off”. She also thanked her fans for being as excited about the project as she was.

Talking to Variety, at the Red Sea Film Festival 2023, she opened up about the rocky start with Angelina Jolie- “We had a rocky start and I think that is going to serve us well in our screen time together.” However, things became normal with time and she felt thrilled to work with Jolie. Berry also went on to praise the Eternals actress by calling her “formidable“.
How did the two actresses bond?
Despite not starting well, Halle Berry and Angelina Jolie eventually bonded well over their past relationships and exes- “We’ve been talking a lot about divorces and exes. We bonded, let’s say that.” Although the Monster’s Ball actress was tight-lipped about the reason for their rocky start, she explained it as a “good story”.
The movie which will most likely feature the actresses as spies on a globe-trotting action thriller is set to be helmed by Kiwi director Roseanne Liang. As described by Deadline, the movie will feature both actresses in a “Bond vs. Bourne” setup.
Halle Berry opened up about her plans of making Maude v Maude large-scale and added that she was in Saudi Arabia to scout locations for it. She is also going to co-produce the movie alongside Angelina Jolie. Though more updates are yet to be revealed, the fans will be excited to see two legendary actresses joining hands for an action flick.
