Now I can say I have seen it all, as an Elden Ring player is attempting to play through the entire game on a violin, and they are succeeding. The player in question is a Twitch streamer called TiavioliGaming, who has already completed the Dark Souls series with a violin and is now planning on taking on Elden Ring and its DLC once that releases.
When it comes to Soul-like games, there will always be players who are willing to add a bit of flare to the already difficult challenge of the Soul-like series. This is by far one of the hardest challenges that has been undertaken, however, as there have been a lot of technical issues to get this system working while also being able to actually play the game with an incredible level of skill.
How Has TiavioliGaming Played Elden Ring Using a Violin?
Playing games has always been an easy task, as players are provided a controller when playing on consoles so that they are able to control their characters without any kind of struggle. However, TiavioliGaming decided to go one step further by creating their own controller using an electric violin, which converts the frequency into a MIDI number, which in turn gets translated into a button press.
According to TiavioliGaming, this has been a rather difficult ordeal as they have had to sync up the different frequencies to each key bind, but what made this so difficult is the fact that the MIDI numbers were syncing to the harmonic frequency of the notes he was playing rather than the actual note he was attempting to use, which in a game like Elden Ring would be a detrimental error as the wrong button press could end your run at that point.
Eventually, they have managed to get this system working well enough that they are able to progress through the game at a reasonable rate while also ensuring that they aren’t dying constantly. They are also wearing a heartbeat detector while playing the game, which will track their heart rate throughout the stream.
During the stream, it has been clear that while playing Elden Ring TiavioliGaming, they have a lot of skill within the game and are able to keep their calm as their heart rate stays at a steady 80 beats per minute (BPS), which is incredibly impressive.
Has Tiavioligaming Struggled to Play Elden Ring With a Violin, or Have They Managed to Progress Far Into the Game?
For obvious reasons, it most likely will have been a major challenge for TiavioliGaming to play Elden Ring only by using a violin, but so far they have managed to progress by a far amount within the game, as they have already killed Godfrey, one of the first bosses in the game, while using a violin.
Since TiavioliGaming has already completed the Dark Souls series of games, it is a safe bet to assume that they will be able to continue with this progress and eventually complete Elden Ring, most likely at the perfect time for the DLC to release.
Understandably, to play Elden Ring effectively, a player is required to acquire weapons, levels, and armour that they can use to defeat the numerous enemies that plague the lands they explore. However, for a player who is using a violin to conquer their enemies, this would understandably be a bit of a challenge and would cause a lot of frustration.
Because of this, TiavioliGaming has managed to grind out weapons and runes to improve their gameplay while preparing for the battles that are ahead of them. This means that they are over-levelling themselves to ensure that they are able to battle against the toughest enemies without worrying about being too weak to handle being hit or having a simple error ruin their boss runs.
