What is Clock Tower?

Another Day Another Remaster As Clock Tower Announced To Make Huge Return To Consoles

Many gamers may not have heard of Clock Tower as it is a rather old Point-and-Click Horror game from back in 1995, there were four different Clock Tower games that were developed between 1995 and 2002, and they did have a cult following, which is still popular today. The story in Clock Tower follows Jennifer Simpson as she is trapped inside of a mansion in Norway as she is pursued by Scissorman, the series villain as her job is to try and escape the mansion.

Most of the game entails Jennifer traversing this mansion, solving puzzles, advancing the story and trying to avoid Scissorman; as this is a vital part of the story, it is highly reliant on horror mechanics to keep the player interested and constantly in a struggle against Scissorman. This relies on a mechanic known as “Panic Mode” which activates whenever the player character is in a scary situation and can cause them to make mistakes in their actions like falling over, following directions wrong or even just running into Scissorman.

The developers that are currently handling the remake of Clock Tower are WayForward, who, over the years, have managed to develop a lot of games that seem to be unique and unknown. Still, the good news is that they are no strangers to point-and-click games, which would give them an edge in developing Clock Tower and ensuring that it comes to new generations working as it should.
