So far, fans have received nothing but elusive responses from the cast regarding the rumors linking Harrison Ford to turning into the Red Hulk. And now, Anthony Mackie, who is also a part of Captain America: Brave New World has also come up with a story that fans are clearly not having for a bit. After the first look of the two characters was officially shared by the studio, the fans noticed, Ford’s pants in the picture were significantly ripped, as if his character, Thaddeus ‘Thunderbolt’ Ross had most recently survived a certain successful transformation.

Thus, fans are expecting it to be any day now, and Mackie’s silly stories aren’t at all working to hide the huge transformation, both literally and figuratively, anymore. While speaking to ComicBook.com, the star of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Anthony Mackie, shared “his” side of the story, but fans are calling it out as a bluff.

Anthony Mackie Tried to Hide Harrison Ford’s Big Transformation

In a conversation with ComicBook.com, the actor Anthony Mackie, narrated a story about Harrison Ford‘s misfortune of losing his luggage while traveling, and therefore suggested that the Indy actor was in desperate need of a friend that would help him out. And just like a true friend Mackie came in for the rescue with comically large, ripped pants for the actor to wear. He explained,

“See, Harrison [Ford] and I go way back. A lot of people don’t know this… This is our second time working together. He came down to Atlanta, they lost his luggage, so I gave him a pair of pants, but those are my work pants from working in the yard. Harrison, he’s a curmudgeon, so he goes, ‘Anthony, just give me the damned pants.’ And I was like, ‘Alright.’ So that’s all that was. He just needed some pants.”

Although they might be in fashion this season, MCU fans are convinced, that was not the reason, Ford was wearing those pants! Despite Anthony Mackie’s response being prompted by a direct question about the Red Hulk transformation, fans believe that both the cast and crew are hinting at something significant. Consequently, Mackie’s attempt to divert the conversation with his story doesn’t appear to have been successful.

Will Harrison Ford Turn Into the Red Hulk?

In an interview, while promoting his latest Indy movie, the actor seemed a bit lost about the relationship between his character, General Ross, and the Red Hulk. With the character’s longstanding presence since 2008, the impending return to the Marvel Cinematic Universe will elevate him to the role of President of the United States, granting him greater influence and authority than ever before in his prior portrayals. And thus, it serves as the perfect time to bring out the long-awaited Red Hulk.

Although there is no way of knowing whether the fans will be able to witness the transformation any time soon, Harrison Ford’s “it may or it may not” comment on the situation surely did not give them hope. All in all, the people involved in the project until now have successfully kept the secrets under wraps, and this level of secrecy has further made fans believe that the most anticipated Red Hulk is right around the corner.

Captain America: Brave New World is set to debut on July 26, 2024, in theaters.
