The 33 and Miracles from Heaven director Patricia Riggen is all set to helm the upcoming thriller G20. The movie will feature an astounding list of ensemble cast to fight terrorists from taking over a G20 summit.
Certainly, the project will reflect the thrill and how the United States will react with all the weapons at their disposal. Starring Antony Starr in the lead, the movie will pan out to explore the thrilling ride with action every step of the line.
Antony Starr Joins Patricia Riggen’s G20
The Boys and Cobweb actor Antony Starr joined forces with MCU and Choke star Clark Gregg and DCU’s Viola Davis alongside a roster of talents. Davis is also producing the star-studded thriller while playing American President Taylor Sutton in the movie, Deadline reported.
After hosting the 2024 Emmys, black-ish star Anthony Anderson is set to appear in the movie, his role is still undisclosed. Another black-ish star Marsai Martin and Will Trent lead Puerto Rican star Ramon Rodriguez also joined the thriller project alongside Douglas Hodge (The Descent Part 2), The Color Purple star Elizabeth Marvel, The White Lotus’ Sabrina Impacciatore, Christopher Farrar (Emily’s Wonder Lab), Dopesick and Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan actor John Hoogenakker and Umma star MeeWha Alana Lee.
Theo Bongani Ndyalvane, Conrad Kemp, Joseph Steven Yang, Emmanuel Castis, David James, and Noxolo Dlamini are also joining the long list of cast in the Riggen-directed flick. However, other than Davis, the roles of the other cast are still under wraps.
G20— Everything We Know About The Thriller
G20 follows a riveting plot where a group of terrorists overtakes the G20 Summit threatening the lives of several global leaders and dignitaries. Davis’ President Taylor Sutton must defend the summit with every state-of-the-art weapon and military force at the arsenal while saving her fellow world leaders.
Noah and Logan Miller scribed the project with Caitlin Parrish, Erica Weiss, and Jason Hall’s revisions. Davis and Julius Tennon are producing the film under their banner JuVee Productions alongside Mad Chance’s Andrew Lazar. The film will be distributed by Amazon MGM Studios.
EGOT winner Davis and Riggen’s collaboration was teased earlier in November 2022 with the How to Get Away with Murder actor set to star and produce the film. However, the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike has delayed the production process as it was scheduled while Davis announced the halt of the project until the conclusion of the strike. Per reports, the production began in January 2024, however, the release info of the film is yet to be disclosed.
