Anyone But You Ending Explained: Why does Ben tell everyone Bea’s secret?
After sleeping together, Ben (Glenn Powell) tells his best friend Pete (GaTa) that Bea dropped out of law school because he was venting. This was after Ben and Brea finally cleared the air over what happened after their first date.
Ben was upset. Bea (Sydney Sweeny) snuck out the following morning. In turn, when Bea returned, he overheard Ben tell Pete she meant nothing to him, which was a lie because he was trying to save face with Pete. He also admitted to Bea that he was mad she snuck out on him that morning.
So, after being rescued before the wedding, Ben and Bea slept together. However, Bea comments that all her decisions lead to mistakes, making Ben question their relationship. He sneaks out, like Bea did to him, angering her. That’s when Ben told Pete her secret. Pete then said the entire family was upset because he was absentminded.
How does Ben profess his love to Bea?
Anyone But You ends with Ben professing his love for Bea at the Sydney Opera House. The wedding cake falls over after Bea and Ben fight again in front of the family. Claudia (Alexandra Shipp) is upset, and Halle tries to calm her down.
The following day, Ben overhears the engaged couple fighting over “Benea.” Ben then talks to Bea, and they officially put their issues behind them for the sake of their families. At the nuptials and on the dance floor, Ben’s ex-girlfriend, Margaret, kisses him. Bea sees it and leaves. The family then convinces him later to go to her.
Ben knows where she will be, so he jumps off a cliff so the emergency helicopter can pick him up. When they do, he asks them to drop him off at the Sydney Opera House. When he asks one of the EMS workers why they don’t rescue people on boats, she says because guys like him couldn’t then profess their love. Ben then does, and they kiss.
They return to the party as a couple. Claudie and Halle then admit that arguing in front of Ben on the day of their wedding was a ruse to get them together again.
