Jason Momoa is set to bring Aquaman back to the big screens again this December. Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is looking to dominate the holiday season as the high-profile release of the month. The film will still face some competition though, with family-friendly animated film The Migration, The Iron Claw starring Zac Efron, and the wide release of the critically-acclaimed American Fiction.
Momoa’s closest competitor could also be Sydney Sweeney, who will be seen in a romantic comedy titled Anyone But You. The Euphoria actor who gained unprecedented superstardom with the hit drama series, could possibly spoil Momoa’s party this December, despite Aquaman 2 being the final countdown to Zack Snyder’s DC vision.

The rom-com which will share the opening Christmas weekend with Aquaman 2, is primarily being awaited for Sweeney’s presence.
The Euphoria star has carved a niche for herself through her powerful performance in the hit drama series and has gained a cult following around the world. Anyone But You starring Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell, is slated to release in December 2023 and has become one of the most highly anticipated rom-coms of this year. A significant reason for the hype is Sweeney’s presence in the film, along with her chemistry with her co-star, as the trailer seems to indicate. Said to be a modernized adaptation of William Shakespeare’s Much Ado About Nothing, Anyone But You is an R-rated romantic comedy, directed and co-written by Will Gluck.
The plot follows two arch-enemies who are forced to pretend they are a couple at a destination wedding. While not much is known about the film beyond this, the two stars’ social media posts seem to indicate that the film is throwing it back to the days of the sizzling rom-coms. In addition, Sweeney’s massive fan following post her Euphoria gig is sure to add to the film’s hype.
