The Jurassic World films led by Chris Pratt carried forward the legacy of what Steven Spielberg created with the Jurassic Park films. The Jurassic World trilogy was wildly successful, with each film grossing a billion dollars at the box office. Despite the quality of the films deteriorating with each entry, the box office signaled that audiences loved watching dinosaurs-mayhem on screen.
Universal is now in production of a new Jurassic World film which will be a fresh new chapter in the franchise with a whole new cast led by Scarlett Johannsson, and Jonathan Bailey. Recently, a photo of Bailey bulking up for the role went viral on social media. While Bailey’s commitment is admirable, fans couldn’t help but make fun of how his workout would help him while facing off against dinosaurs.

The first trilogy in the Jurassic World franchise went out on a high with 2022’s Jurassic World: Dominion grossing a billion dollars at the box office. Universal is not letting go of the franchise just yet and has started production on a fourth Jurassic World film, which will be directed by Gareth Edwards, who most recently delivered the visually stunning The Creator.
Scarlett Johannsson will be leading the film along with Jonathan Bailey, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, and Rupert Friend. A photo of Bailey working out for his role in the film went viral and fans are having a field day with it. Bailey is certainly getting ripped for his Jurassic World role and fans have no complaints regarding his commitment to the project.
However, fans are finding it funny that Bailey is working out for a dinosaur flick where the human characters have no chance of defeating the giant creatures physically. On X, fans hilariously made fun of Bailey’s workout sessions and joked whether he would be facing off against the dinosaurs head-on.

Bailey has already become a huge heartthrob among fans from his roles in Bridgerton and Fellow Travelers. While the sarcastic comments about his workout pictures are hilarious, people are excited for him to be joining such a big franchise with other big stars. It remains to be seen what role Bailey plays in the new film.
Gareth Edwards Dropped Everything To Direct The Next Jurassic World Movie
The new Jurassic World film was initially attached to David Leitch. However, the director left the project and the slot was open to other potential directors. Once Gareth Edwards became aware of it, he instantly took over the slot and became the official director of the new film. In an interview with Collider, Edwards stated that he was planning on taking a break and had started writing an idea for his next film.
When the opportunity to direct the next Jurassic World came, he couldn’t help but take it on. The director claimed that he is a huge fan of 1993’s Jurassic Park, calling it a cinematic masterpiece. He also called the gig a dream job as he gets to work with the producer and writer of the 1993 blockbuster. Edwards said,
I was about to take a break and I started writing my next idea for a film and this is the only movie that would make me drop everything like a stone and dive right in. I love Jurassic Park.
I think the first movie is a cinematic masterpiece…so this opportunity is like a dream to me. And to work with Frank Marshall and Universal and David Koepp, who’s writing the script, I think they’re all legends. So I’m just very excited.
Edwards has shown his capability of handling a big-budget feature and infusing it with a great story and emotion. The new Jurassic World film will star Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Bailey, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Rupert Friend, Mahershala Ali, Luna Blaise, and David Iacono.
The film will hit theatres on July 2, 2025.
